I have also filed a complaint with the Texas Secretary of State's Auditor's Office and the Houston. I simply want to return this defective engine and get my money back.
To: TEXAS STATE’S AUDITOR'S OFFICE at https://sao.fraud.texas.gov/ReportFraud/, and to the HOUSTON, TEXAS BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU on 06-19-2020.
I recently purchased a 2.7 l Toyota Tacoma engine from Engine World USA, Wholesale Japanese Engines, which also goes by the name of RS Industrial Engines. The engine arrived at my mechanics shop in both poor and unusable condition:
My mechanic said in the attached photos that both the engine block and the cylinder head are unusable, they both have dirty, grimy and defective and bent parts on them. My mechanic said that he cannot warranty this engine due to the unusable condition of this long block engine and he does not want to take on this project knowing full-well that the outcome will be poor. I had my mechanic make a video of everything that was wrong with this engine, including close ups of bent, dirty and rusty parts. I was told that the engine would have a brand-new cylinder head on it, which it does not. I have tried to talk to the manager about these issues and make arrangements to return this engine to him. He said that I was talking like a 2-year old and that I did not know what I was talking about and hung up on me and has since refused to accept any of my calls.
If you examine the photos you can clearly see that the engine contains rusty internal parts, bent screws and portions of both the block and the cylinder head have hammer and chisel marks on them. These are both high heat and high compression engine parts that have to be machined to perfection in order to keep them from malfunctioning, which is why my mechanic refuses to work on this project because he cannot warranty his work on this engine.
This is the copy of an EMAIL that I recently received from the manager of Engine World USA. RS Industrial Engines regarding the problems with this product after he hung up on me and said that I was acting like a 2-year old:
Please be realistic. We use cores that we receive from the customers. External appearance of the engine has no bearing on quality. It is the internal components that matter. We don't sell new engines. For example, if you send your old engine back, it will definitely have rusty spots and wear on the outside. We can't buy new blocks because that's like selling a new engine. You bought a re-manufactured engine which means internals will be replaced after the block is machined and resurfaced. It does not mean we will aesthetically make the block look beautiful.
After receiving the engine my mechanic immediately called me saying that there were so many defective parts on this engine that he could not warranty any of his work on my truck because there were to many problems with this replacement engine. I immediately called Engine World USA and a company representative by the name of Jonnette told me that she would make arrangements to have the engine picked up and give me a refund of $2,700.00, which is exactly what I paid for the engine, minus the $250.00 fee, which she said that I would have to absorb. I agreed to that arrangement, however, 3-days later 2 Freight Companies arrived to pick up the engine, neither driver had a bill of laden, a receipt, or any kind of paper work to say where the engine was going, who was paying for the shipping fees, who would be receiving the engine, nor when I could expect a refund. So I did not allow either of the shipping companies to take the engine that I had just paid $2950.00 for anywhere, as I had already become quite suspicious of this compline's business practices.
After numerous attempts to contact a representative at Engine World, I asked to speak with my sales representative Jonnette, and was told that she no longer worked for the company, however, I was told by another company representative by the name of Nick that Engine World had he had called AAA Cooper Freight Company out of Metairie, Louisiana that they had sent out a request to have the engine picked up. The next day I called the AAA Cooper Freight Company and spoke to the owner, who said that he would try to determine who placed the order along with the bill of laden. The next day I called him back and he said there is no paper work and there is no bill of laden and he had no idea as to where the engine would be sent after it was picked up. (AAA Cooper, owner Anthony Cimino, and he can be reached at 504-831-2500/[email protected])
I simply want a refund on this purchase from Wholesale Japanese Engines INC, RS Industrial Engines, Engine World and their parent company MCJ ENGINES LLC.
I have even offered to pay for the return shipping fees, but no one from RS INDUSTRIAL ENGINES, or WHOLESALE JAPANESE ENGINES will take my calls, or even email me with an address to return the engine.
