On April 22, 2023, my husband and I purchased a used 2016 GMC Yukon XL with a 5.3L engine with 86,577 miles. On December 4, 2023, 8 months after purchase, it broke down without any warnings. I was stopped at a red light and when it turned green, and I was ready to go I stepped on the gas, and the truck jerked and made a loud sound, and the check engine light came on. The truck wouldn't go more than 5mph when I stepped on the gas. So, we took the truck to the repair shop to have a diagnostic. We then proceeded to file a claim with our extended warranty Endurance Dealer Service, thereafter, Moss Brother's Chevrolet repair shop communicated with Endurance and provided a diagnostic per the instructions on the agreement. Diagnostic showed that there was a misfire of cylinder 6 adjuster at Endurance then recommended a tear down and we authorized for it to be done since that was what Endurance recommended. Upon tear down it was determined that there was a collapsed lifter on cylinder 6. A fit test was performed and found cylinders 1 and 7 out of variance. This information was sent to the adjuster at Endurance, however, they denied the claim and said that they would send over their inspector. At this point and after the inspector submitted his report Endurance denied the claim stating that there wasn't enough damage or a misfire to the lifter and or cylinder 1 and 7. The tech talked to the adjuster and the adjuster agreed to resend an inspector again. The inspector was a no-show and failed to call to reschedule. Four days later the inspector called to schedule the inspection and it was denied again claiming that there was not enough damage to the lifter and cylinders 1 and 7. I have personally called and talked to several customer representatives and finally to Chris who claimed to be the senior agent in the claims department. I also requested copies of all the information they had received from the repair shop and inspector, and they denied my numerous requests. I also contacted the dealership that sold us the warranty, but they didn't do anything and blamed the repair shop. Repairs total $5,955.36; we also were given a rental which we have now returned and had to borrow money to pay for the rental that totals $1,779.98. On January 16, 2024, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureaus in hopes that Endurance would now solve the issue. On January 25, 2024, my husband received a call from Will from Endurance but because my husband was at work, he instructed Will to call me and provided him with my number which they already had in their system. I never received a call from Will or anyone else from this company. On January 29, 2024, Will called me to acknowledge they had received the complaint from BBB and to inform me that they couldn't do anything because they needed proof that there was damage to the lifter. I then asked Will to call the repair shop and request them to resubmit the information. I contacted the repair shop on January 30, 2024, to follow up and see if Will had contacted them but they denied Will calling yesterday. I have looked up this company with BBB and have found that other claims have been filed against this company with the same issues claiming that they deny the claim and don't pay out. My 2016 GMC Yukon is still at Moss Brothers Chevrolet repair shop, it will now be 2 months, I was left without a vehicle and I don’t have the money to pay for the repairs. Endurance Dealer Services has caused great financial hardship and excruciating emotional stress for me and my family.
