I bought a printer, Lexmark T650, printer from Sales Rep Mark at Encon Systems on July 18,2017. for $578.19. August 17, 2017 I shipped my Lexmark T650 to Encon Systems for maintenance (a printer I bought originally from Encon Systems in August 2014) When my printer was shipped back to me, it had been damaged in shipping by FedEx. So, Mark with Encon Systems decided to sent out a service tech traveling from 65-70 miles away to repair the damaged printers on site. In the meantime, the new printer that was just purchased from Encon Systems started to print very light on the left side of the labels and receipts. My business require printing of labels and receipts to operate. Mark at Encon Systems shipped me a third printer that was also damaged in shipping by FedEx. Again, the service tech was called out to do repairs, using all three printer parts to get 2 complete printers working. As I spoke to the service tech, he told me he does not repair printers, but thought he could do this with no problems. Several times a day he would google to find out how to repair the printers.
I called Mark at Encon Systems with my concerns that the service tech was unfamiliar with printer repairs. They assured me he could do the job. November 27, 2017 I received a bill from Encon Systems for $1,111.73 bill for the repairs on the two printers. I called to argue about that large amount. Why should I pay for repairs on the damaged printers that had nothing to do with me. They did not get insurance on these shipments and assumed I would pay for the damages. They agree to absorb some of the bill dropping the bill to $729.61. But, I continued to argue. At the end, I had to agree to the amount to keep my business operating. January 4, 2018 I paid the $578.19 for the new printer. January 29, 2018 I made a partial payment of $243.20 on the repair bill and to make monthly payments until balance was paid.
On February 27, 2018 the new printer was not printing right again. We installed the spare printer previous repaired. I left a message to Mark at Encon Systems that the new printer was not printer right again. March 5, 2018 Mark from Encon Systems emailed me a reply Quote: "I received your message this weekend and I'm sorry about your current printer issues. However, your account with Encon is presently on Credit Hold because it stills carries a balance from last year. we cannot send you any products or dispatch any services until the balance is paid" "This balance is 68 days past due. All the credits you negotiated with me back in December, as well as payments you have made have been applied. Once this remaining balance is paid-in-full, we can dispatch the tech back to Kermit Pharmacy for affect repairs for the more recent issues." After Encon System"s email, I started to search for a new printer elsewhere. We needed a backup printer. At this moment, we are only using the printer that I purchased elsewhere in March. The spare printer repaired by Encon Systems and the new printer bought and repaired by Encon Systems is not working at all..These printers should have lasted longer than 3 to 4 months. This company has taken advantage of a person who is just trying to keep business operating normally. I realize I will never get back what money I have wasted with this company. But, hopefully my story will help others from making the mistakes I have made.
