Had no idea what I was getting my self in for. Signed up for a $5.95 trial product. The product came in mail with no literature. I really had no idea what to do with it, and kind of forgot about it, until I saw a charge for $98 on my credit card. I called and was told that my "14 day trial" period had ended and I now owed the full 30-day supply amount. I told them I wanted to cancel my membership, which I could do, but I could not get a refund for the $98 even though I told them I never opened product and would like to send it back. I told them I was unsatisfied with this, and they told me the best they could do was to give me a 35% refund. I did not take this. I am disputing the charge on my credit card to see if I can get anywhere that way. The terms and conditions were no where to be found when I first signed up for this product, so they are using deceiving practices, to say the least.
If you appreciate the power of words and how someone can turn them against you then you'll love this skin care company!
Most membership skin care products openly state they are a memebership and that by agreeing, you are entering into a monthly shipment arrangement until you cancel etc.
Not Encate Skin Care. They dupe you by not alerting you to any time constraints or membership agreement and most people only find out AFTER their credit cards have been charged the exhorbiant fees of more than 190. for 2 one ounce products.
How do they get away with this? By stating in their 'Terms & Agreement' at the bottom of their webpage (several layers deep! not even on the main page!) that by the mere act of sending in the order for the trial offer, you are agreeing to all their terms and policies (way too many to list and so ludicrous that if you did ever read them, you would never, ever ageree to them.) Again, if this were a legit company, you would have a little check box at the bottom of the order form saying " that by checking this, you are agreeing...." you know the drill.
I just spent 2 hours of my life, between trying to call the erroneous number on my credit card statement by the charges to digging up my web browser history to find the above mentioned small print, to calling, not once but 3 times before finally speaking to someone who kept trying to negotiate a percentage of the charges ("I'll refund you 30%"......Krikes! Do people ever say 'yes'?!) I held strong and fought for a full refund. We'll see if they follow thru.
They mailed the products by USPS so there is another level of fraud going on as the ooriginal packing slip intentionally was devoid of ANY information regarding any time constraints or mention of the "membership" and monthly fees that they say you agreed to when you submitted an order for a trial offer ("You just pay the shipping and handling!"....those are now key RUN FOR THE HILLS words!
I am posting this in hopes that enough people who fall victim to the same deception will take a stand and this company will get their act together.
-Encante Skin care offered free trial but shipping would have to be paid
- Opted in for "FREE" skin trial and paid shipping
- Cancelled within 14 days and have phone record providing proof (tramatic experience calling this company. Worse than any bad sales experience I have EVER had. VERY shady company.)
- Received COLLECTION letter dated 7/15/2017 from DAR WATERFRON & Assocaites shaking me down for $98.71!
- Encante Skin is violating consumer trust and not honoring what they advertised.
- I will HAPPILY join any class action suite against them...
Well, there was NO SIGN of any subscription info OR deadlines for returns OR price for not returning/cancelling or anything. Just a free trial with S&H. I got the skin cream AND the eye cream, so that's $200!!! We'll see what happens when I call, but since the "company" info is scant/nonexixtent I have not much hope. I did refuse the second shipment and recieved a refund. I'll say that for them. But the approach is shady at best, coersive at it's worst. Argh.
My wife ordered this product after reading that it was available for a trial offer of $5.95. It didn't work at all and she forgot about it. Imagine her surprise when another bottle weighing .5 ounce arrived at our doorstep with a bill of $98.71!
She called the customer "service" number and the person there said there was no way she could return the original bottle (for which she had been charged $98.71) and she would be charged the same for the new bottle.
He said that she should have read the fine print (well, true enough but most companies don't work that way in my experience). It said that she would be charged the full amount for the product if she didn't notify them before 14 days had passed. We will probably have to eat the first payment, but I have contacted our credit card company and told them what has occurred and not to pay the second bill. We have sent the product back.
I am not happy with this company or its services. I received a small bottle of the serum for $5.95 in a small box with no paperwork, no customer service number and no packaging material. I was not aware of such an outrageous charge 15 days later for $98.71. I called the company and after being on hold for a long time i spoke to someone and asked them to cancel this order. Basically if you dont cancel you will get charged monthly for a delivery of this serum. $100. I was left on hold again while they cancelled my subscription.
Bad service, bad attitude will never order again. This place needs to be reported for their scams.
The advertisement of this product preys on a woman's appearance, the ridding one's self of cellulite. The treatment is endorsed by Dr. Oz. It claims CNN is also an important factor of it's credibility. The site claims a thirty day trial period for free. That is a fabrication and then, even if you call before the 14 day trial, they will not refund your money. The bottom line is; The consumers of these types of trial periods are lied to and scammed out of their money.
I ordered a free trial offer off of Facebook for Encante Skin products. They said they would send a free trial offer for shipping fee's only. I did recieve a very small tube of product, as in sample size. I just recieved in the mail a letter from a company by the name of COLLECT PRO'S stating I owe a debt in the amount of $188.48
Seriously, for what? I tried to call the debt collection company and it will not allow you to leave a message, it says you have to file a complaint and or dispute online. Well I tried that and all it says is that the company Encate Skin says I owe for product that I never recieved. It will not allow you to leave any dispute on line. I then tried to locate a phone number for Encante Skin Care and there is no reachable phone number listed online. WOW, what a scam. If this goes on my credit report I will sue this company and the collection company too. Such fraud, and to think Facebook allows it to be sold on their sight, even makes it worse.
Encante is a SCAM! Facebook was advertising this amazing eye cream for only $5.00 dollars, which I paid it with a gift card. Four months later I received a collection notice from Collect Pros stating I owe $197.72 for the products Encante Eye and Encante Skin. However, I never received any notice stating I needed to pay more money or that they wanted me to send the unused portion back to them.
The collection notice was interesting, as they did not refernce the issue and listed a contact number that only went to a pre recorded message and giving me the ONLY option to make a payment. A reputable company would not do this to their customers, especially if they wanted repeat business.
Please advise how I should move forward with this issue.
I was charged $5.95 for a product i never received. Four days later my bank called about some 'fraudulent charges' amounting to a little more than $200.00. When i contacted customer support i was yelled at, cussed at, and then hung up on. When i tried to call back the number was mysteriously busy, for 24 hours.
Encante Skincare was very deceptive and unclear about charges to be made for a "trial bottle". I remember their website being jumpy before the final ordering section where apparently there was supposed to be information that I was to be charged about a hundred dollars for said bottle of $5.95 sample bottle of serum. I was informed by the representative fielding my call that it was very clear and legal (like she had received many a call like mine).
I don't beleive that it is should be so easy to connive a charge of $99.01 out of an average person. Absolutely ridiculous!!
I ordered a sample of DML Pure Eye Cream (2 bottles) for $5.95 each. When I looked at my credit card statement today, I was shocked to see that not only had I been charged $5.95 each, but I had also been charged $99.01 and $98.71 for future shipments. I immediately contested the charges on my credit card, and called Encanteskin to complain. They said that since I had checked the box "I agree," I am responsible for the $200 in charges. I told them that I had no intention of paying, and would refuse any further shipments from them. Encanteskin said that regardless of whether or not I refused shipment, I would be charged the $200. and they would not relent on the matter. They did agree to discount the cream by 65%, but that is still too rich for my blood (I'm on social security). I just feel this subscription should have been made perfectly clear in the offering. There was no mention of it except in the "I agree" box that no one reads.
I ordered one sample, not the two charged for. I was charged for, and received, both of the creams offered. Then, today, my account was charged for 99.01 from this company.
I called the number listed on my bank account, to try to understand what was going on, as I do not recall the name of the company on my statement. The man on the line told me that I had ordered the two creams, and this was the rest of the amount I owed to them.
I said I was going to call my bank and cancel this amount, as I did not authorize it. He remarked that I had agreed to the terms when I ordered the cream, and that it was too late. When I persisted, he said he was the supervisor and he could only authorize a 35% refund.
My husband talked to this man and told him we were going to talk to BBB, our bank and a lawyer. The man then agreed to 50%. My husband humg up the phone. When we went back to my account to use the information for this report, the money was put back and the information erased.
We have received a cancellation order. I will never again order anything except from my usual companies.
Ecante Skin Serum and Eye Cream are a fraud and scam. I canceled within three days. The next month I received an order and was charge approx $200. I looked at the last month's bank statment and found that I was charged $200. $400 for two months. I called and they refused to acknowledge that I called and canceled. This comany conducts fraudulent business practices and their products do not work and are a scam.
I see dozens of complaints for the above mentioned merchant, what is being done about how they trick you into thinking your getting a sample then end up getting charges for a subscription? Obvioulsy a sample is just that, a sample.
These products were supposedly offered by both Dr. Oz and Jennifer Anniston at $4+$1.95 s&h each. They claim I signed an agreement which I did not. My Credit card agent found their #. Upon discovering two charges, $98 and $97 on my credit card. I tried to phone them but there was no number. We called them only to be talked over, yelled at, put on hold, and interrupted. They alleged that I signed an agreement. Not so. Someone named "Liz" and another named "Chris" were extremely insulting and obnoxious to both me and CC agent. Here's one of their numbers 855-308-0261.
Other names are Violite Face Serum, Biontiecream, Encante.
They gave me 1/2 off credit saying take it or leave it or else. Now I find since I accepted their offer per advice of CC agent, I'm stuck with the remainder of the balance, $99.
When I receive CC statement I called credit card and they said, yes company is unscrupulous but since I signed agreement (which credit card agent said to take, the $99 is legal and binding.
With all these complaints, it appears nothing is being done. Please advise.
Ordered a serum that does not work. Video is deceptive. Agreement on mobile device is unreadable. Thought I was only ordering a free sample. My card has been charged twice for product I do not want.
ENCANTE IS A SCAM - DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO
My story is the same as everyone else. They claim to provide free samples if you will pay 5.95 for shipping with your credit card, then they take hundreds of dollars from your account and refuse to refund your money. They claim you were given 14 days to test their terrible product that actually makes your skin worse, even though no such information was given at the time of purchase. They change their ads daily to deceive those they have stolen money from and prevent credit card companies from filing fraud charges against them. My bank, Chase, says they are about to launch an all out assault on the shameless scammers at Encante and close those creeps down for good. Soon all banks will follow suit. ENCANTE and its employees are low life thieves who belong behind bars, avoid this criminal organization and its horrible products at all costs.
On Dec 4, I enrolled for the 14 day trial. I called the number I had after 12 days and told them I wanted to cancel. The gentleman was very nice and told me that if I kept the product until December 30 and wrote a review, that I would owe nothing and get to keep the product. Of course I agreed.
On 12/21, I was charged $99.01 from the company. When I called them they said they had no record of that conversation.
Then I learned that they use two different phone numbers for billing, and I had just called one.
Both products were delivered in the same address in one box. How is a person to know this. the phone numbers are very similar, ( 855-207-4451 and 855 207 4447 ) and unfortunately I did not check that I was billed twise.
The second operator I spoke to was not so kind as the first one, in fact he was rude and cold. Now I am out $99.01 for a product which does not do what was promised.
I don't understand that, when you sign up for a free trial, you are automatically signed up for automatic shipment (missed the obscure fine print) before you've had a chance to even try the product(s). Reconciling my credit card account, the charges aren't even under identifiable names connected with this sketchy company.
Called twice. Neither agent was very forthcoming or helpful about the sneaky little automatic sign up policy.
I feel victimized by this scam. This company should be investigated for fraudulent business practices.
I ordered face syrum, was only supposed to pay 5.95 dollars shipping. They charged my Visa 5.95 twice, then charged 89.00. Next charged 98.91. I called the company and told them I didn't order this and the person I talked with said I signed the agreement when I ordered the face cream. But did put the 89.00 back in my bank. Refused to refund the 98 dollars. And said they would "close my account"
Then this month I was again charged 98.91. I called again and was told the same thing that I signed the aggreement when I ordered the cream. I told him that I am 76 years old and living on Soc Sec, he just just kept repeating that I had signed up for it. I later got an e-mail stating that the oney would be refunded I'm still waiting. I used my Visa debit card.
Called for refund as the product broke out my skin with exema scales for 3 days. They refused after 4 hours of being on the phone with them, my husband got involved as they were making discouraging remarks about why did I order the trial for $5.95. I wanted to try it, but I was enrolled in program where they were taking $89 from my bank account. They claimed they had an electronic signature. I asked them to send it to me, but they refused. After 4 hours on the phone, they still refused to refund. I made a complaint to the bank, as well. But when I got off the phone after asking for the alleged electronic signature, low and behold, the refund was in my account. Stay Away! They claim that they are backed by Dr. OZ. However, I'm not certain if that is even true.

Encante skin care
Same rip off as others, I didn't understand about 14 day deal either, no satisfaction from company. I called one day late.
I wonder if Dr. Oz is still recommending this product???
Not only is this a rip-off, but my skin is breaking out now.
Buyers beware, be sure to read the fine print. Let's
face it how can a person tell in 14 days that a product is
working or not??

But when I got off the phone after asking for the alleged electronic signature, low and behold, the refund was in my account. Stay Away! They claim that they are backed by Dr. OZ. However, I'm not certain if that is even true.
