I was approached by a male driving a car close to my apartment in Helsinki. A polite man at his 60s, short gray hair, unshaven, stopped close to me and asked how to get to the airport. I adviced him, and he starts telling about some extra clothing that was left with him after an exhibit in Helsinki. Since he was returning to Milano, he would like to give these to me for free, "why don't you step in and we discuss further". I chatted with him and he produced several bags having armani labels on them and several jackets plus a suit. I was totally fooled by the fellow and, asked by him, withdraw 800€ from a local ATM to pay him for this "gift".
Back at home (some 200 m from this rip-off site), my wife immediately regocnized that the clothing was worth of a few tens of euros, only. As an example, the jackets were not of fine leather (as he told me), but something else...
I feel absolutely naive and stupid about the incident. The fellow was really convincing about the way he approached me. I still have his visitor card:
