Last month I ordered a car cover from Empirecovers.com. I ordered an “American Armor RipStop Car Cover Gray Size Code1980 OLDSMOBILE 442 Part number RNWC04” with a 12 year warranty.
The next week, I received a product in the mail. After placing the cover on the car, I noticed that the cover was different and had the logo "NeverWet" on the front of it.
I went back and checked the paperwork and the box and found the part number RNWCF4. I did not find this part number on their website, but I found it under www.budgecovers.com (Budge Covers was the logo the box) with a 7 year warranty.
I took screen shots of both webpages and pictures of the packaging and sent them to their customer service requesting information on why they sent me a different cover. They evaded giving me a direct answer and told me that they would cover the warranty for 10 years. I questioned them again about the different properties of the two covers (weight, country of origin, UV resistance, Hem type, and warranty) and they evaded the question and said "I apologize for the confusions. You have a 12 year warranty thru Empire Covers. It is hard to see the attachments you have provided as they come up small.
The covers on Empire and Budge are the same in quality and weight but offer different warranties."
The cover I ordered was $157.50 before discounts. The cover they shipped me is $166.11.
This company is THE WORST
This company lies and deceives at every opportunity. They sell inferior products, and then they grab 20% of your order when you try to return things (restocking fee). It's challenging to get a human being on the phone, and then they just spout off their policies and give you no actual help. Their products are crap, their policies are crap.
Please be aware of Empire covers, they tell you when ordering a $1500 portable garage that the standard material last 5 years and the upgraded material last 10 years. I ordered the 12 x 24 unit and it hasnt lasted 12 months. When I contacted the company they said 60 warranty. when you order they say 1 year warranty but lasts 5 years etc..
Stay away from this company, material is junk and as I stated lasts less than a year. Pay more $$ and go with rhino shelter, a real company and not a fraud and they back up their product.
I ordered a vip advanced cover system from empire covers. It shows up I open the box and literally the buckles fell off. Only 3 buckles where not broke in one way or another. Then the strap that holds the buckles looked like a cat shredded it. I can't believe they sent this out to someone. I took pictures on my phone and have them still. It was supposed to have a storage bag which it didn't have. Then they wanted me to return it at my cost (no reimbursement) and when they got it then they'd send me a new one so in the mean time my bike would sit in the rain. Instead of going out of there way to make the customer happy they did the opposite. The more I talked to them the madder I got. I've ordered A LOT of stuff online and this is by far the worst experience EVER. EVERYONE else would of sent me a new cover with a return Shipping label but instead they put me out by having to pay my own return and then have to wait for a new cover while my bike gets soaked. And what sad is they should of sent me a new one instead of a return and that's what I feel I got was a return because of how bad it was. Then when I tried to leave feedback they screen it so they can keep there rating up and I never saw my feedback (review) anywhere . It's a joke site and company that has no business being in business. Would love for them to contact me with the ammo I have. Simply horrible product.
So empire covers does not actually make the car car covers. they rebrand covers from budge which make some of the crappiest covers around..if i knew this from the start i would have never bought this car cover from empire.. the car cover i bought says it was 100% water proof.. after the first heavy rain went to check and see if my car was doing ok under the cover.. yup wet as if there was no cover at all.. pure crap..shady company avoid at all cost..
I have purchased 3 car covers for my 2007 Chevy Tahoe, thru Empire Car Covers. None have held up to the guarantee that i paid for, 3 yrs. My latest cover lasted less than 9 mos. My Tahoe is kept outside in the sun, rain & elements in Florida & has basically rotted. I decided to exercise the warranty & I find that I have to send the defective cover to Budge. I certainly have no problems in sending this back but, needless to say, the cover is quite big & cumbersome, they have sent no instructions or return label. What a hassel, I will not purchase another cover thru Empire again. Another argument is that it didn't fit properly.
