This billing group is useless. I saw one of their doctors in the Emergency room at Parker Adventist May 2015. After receiving the bill from Parker, I pulled my records and audited the account. The charges were incorrect. Parker corrected them, but when I asked for the physician bill to be lowered due to the incorrect level of service, medically unnecessary lab tests and horribly incorrect physician documentation, I was told I had to have the account reviewed. I asked for a review in September 2015 and never heard anything back......until I received a notice that my account had been turned for collections. When I called Emergency Physicians about this, I was told the audit had been finished in February 2016....which was five months from the time I asked for the review. Whoever reviewed the account stated it was o.k. and no adjustments would be done. They refused to give me a self-pay discount and told me I had to apply for charity through Parker Adventist. I looked at the 15 items Parker stated they needed for one to qualify for charity and knew I would not qualify. I have been in contact with one of the managers there, who told me to send in everything again. I sent in more than enough to suppport my case. Even though the manager said she would call me when she received the information, she has not. It was received in their PO box on May 21, 2016. I called today and asked for the same manager. I was told she was not in. According to the representative, no one ever knows when she will be in. I left a message for her asking her to call me back.
I asked if the payment I sent in on May 24, 2016 had been posted to my account. I was told it takes up to 30 days for a payment to post to an account there. I have been in the medical field for a very long time. I've done auditing, coding and collections for physicoan offices and hospitals. I have never been treated this poorly. The representatinves are like robots. I feel sorry for them for making the choice to work there. The manager comes and goes as she pleases and no one knows where she is. She does not return calls. I never received a call back as I requested and the other times I have called to talk to here, she is always conveniently away.
Clearly, there is mis-manangement through out this business. I have made 6 calls in three weeks trying to get this pulled from collections and they refuse to do that, even though they have a payment and documentation from the physician that is so incorrect I was wondering at times who the patient was, even though I was supposed to be me. I have turned the physician over to The Department of Regulatory Affairs. I have called the collection agency, who keeps piling compound interest on the bill. This business can always tell me what they can't do, but they never tell me what they can do. I'm not sure what my next steps will be, but I'm not finished with them yet.
