After a terrible car accident Elite Towing & Transport Inc towed our car to the yard until it could be taken to the repair shop. My insurance company contacted them that same day but were told they cannot release the can unless I sign a release form. I called them and they said they would send a release form which I was to sign and send in with the registration and drivers licenese. Got that the next day and I imeadiatly sent it in. I called later that day to confirm that they had received it which they confirmed. The insurance company tried to pick up the car but was told that the car had not been released yet so they called me to go in and sign a release form. I called the towing company again and was told that they already had the release form and they were just waiting for the insurance company to contact them. Eight days later the car still has not been transferred to the repair shop. Called the insurance company again and once again was told I needed to sign a release. After eight different calls and a conference call the towing company admitted they have had the release form since the day after the accident. Now the towing company is saying they can't release the car until the storage fees are paid. the Insurance says that is no problem and they will pay as soon as the tow company tells them how much. A week later the insurance company tells me that the person at the tow company who is supposed to give them the total for services has not been available anytime that they called and they verified that they had been calling two times a day trying to get an answer. Called the towing company again they informed me that the insurance compay had yet to contact them and the person who can tell me the charges for their services was not available. The repair shop told me that towing companies routienly keep the cars as long as they can to run up the storage fee charges. I think that is what is happening here. As of today my car still sits in the towing company's storage area and NOT the repair shop.
