I spoke with Lea Williams concerning maintenance fee of $900.00 + $1900 late fee and was told she could take $800 off and that’s it. When ask to speak to Lea supervisor she refused. She stated, I couldn’t speak to a supervisor and she will be emailing me the plan to pay the charge like it or not. I am not disputing the maintenance fees and would like assistance with this matter. How can any company charge these types of late fees? I’d like assistance in determining how Elite Resort Group AKA Reba Management is allowed to charge these ripoff fees? I would like to speak with Lea Williams supervisor.

Company is charging from $25 up to 200% of maintenance fee for late charges for late maintenance fee on the time share. Is this legal or ethical.

I own a timeshare in the Hilton Heal Island Links Coral Resorts. I'd like assistance in determining how Eite Resort Group (AKA Reba Management) is allowed to charge member 50-200% late fees? This is definitely a rip-off and as stated below, I'm not trying not to pay the maintenance fee but as stated in the below paragraph sent to Elite Resort Group in April I feel that this is an excessive amount for a late fee, therefore, I've protested making the payment until I can get some assistance in exposing this practice and getting the late fees resended. Also, I see that there was some bad reviews on Reba Management, is this why the name was changed to Elite Resort Group to deflect the irreputable practices of Reba Management?

Excerpt of letter sent to Elite Resort Group April 2016:

I’d like to address why the maintenance fee for 2016 hasn’t been submitted. I’ve talked with Lea Williams on two occasions to pay the maintenance fee of $992.96 + $25 late fee and was told it’s not accepted because of the penalties of 50% which I’m not in agreement with and feel it’s excessive and an unfair practice. I understand that the $992 fee is going toward the resort amenities and operating expenses as outlined in the 2016 Island Links Budget breakdown provided; but, where is the extra 50-200% penalty fee coming from and where is it going? My interest is in the property maintenance not some arbitrary and unfair fees that have nothing to do with the property’s maintenance.

In closing, is there any state laws (credit regulations, FTC etc) that a consumer can refer to alleviate these charges? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as I know I'm not the only member being ripped-off.
