I filled out for health insurance online to see what rates I could get and before I knew it I received a voice message by Elaina with Elite National health group said I was approved for 2 insurance plans and have immediate enrollment and for me to call her at 1-732-686-1056 x-100. I called her and she went over the plans and the 1st plan was better suited for me and my husband. I was told that it was called the United health one plan and when I received my ins card in the mail it was Unified Health.
I asked Elaina about prescripitions and she stated that my out of cost would be $20-$30 for genenric and could go has high has $55 for non generic. The plan would only cost $142 a month and we could see any doctor without a referral as long as it was in network. She did advised there would be a $99 on time enrollment fee and that my 1st charge would be $241.
I was ok with it and asked when would cover start she said no until November 15th, I was not happy that I would have to wait that long but I couldn't pass up the chance of having medical. dental and vision for such a good premium every month.
In our converstation she stated that the insurance companies I was approved for excepted pre-exisiting conditions, That was great because I'm diabetic and I have a presciption I need to fill.
On the 15th of November when my coverage started I called down to the pharmacy to get my prescription refilled and chose a time and date to pick it up. I chose the day I called which was the 15th of November and showed up at 1pm. I gave my insurance card and pharmacist came back and said it would cost $403 and that I just had a discount card not an actual insurance card for medications and that I was getting a deal.
By now I'm pissed, I call the next day and speak to Kevin and let me tell you the way he talks to people he should be fired. He speaks to like your a child and your beneath him. He told me that I was told that it was just a discount card and the insurance didn't cover medications and he told me he has it recoreded I said good let me hear the recording because that's not what I was told. He said he would have to get back with me. I should have listened to the red flags popping up but I was so d**n mad
I had an MRI that was ordered from my Dr on the 13th of November to do on the 16th of November and then another dr appt on the 17th to go over the MRI.
I was told by my dr that I would have to have surgery and he could fit me on Friday Nov 20th. I was called by the hospital yesterday to set up for blood work and chest xray for today. A few minutes later I get a call from the hospital saying that the insurance company denied my surgery as there's a 30 day waiting period.
Never in my life have I heard anything so stupid. You took my money, I was lied about prescriptions and now you denied me having a surgery that is needed.
I called Kevin and ask why I was denied? I told him you were ok with taking my money the same day i signed up for this insurance and now you're telling me I have to wait 30 days to have surgery.
He started getting loud and that pissed me off to no end so I finally had to have my husband take over the call because he could hear how this guy was talking to me and he wasn't happy,
My husband told him numerous times to stop raising his voice at him and Kevin basically just kept at it with my husband and finally my husband lost his cool and told him to give us our money back. Kevin kept at with his mouth and yelling at my husband and finally my husband told him he had 24 hours to get us our refund or he would be gettting our lawyer involved. Kevin changed his tone and advised it would take 5-7 business days to get the full refund.
Today is day 1 this company has from November 25th,2015 to November 27th, 2015 being the last day of receiving the FULL refund
