They tricked me into thinking I was on the irs.gov website! And stole my money for a free service provided!
In the days after my mother's death I learned from my accountant that I needed to obtain a tax ID number for her estate. I went to the web and thought I was on the IRS government site. I entered the information that was requested and paid the $247.00 required. I had never needed to apply for an estate TIN before and thought that a fee was customary. Subsequent to that my accountant informed me that I was ripped off as the IRS does not charge any fee. Now we are trying to submit her tax filing and the IRS is telling me there are major issues with the filing and the company basically is not attempting to assist me at all and I will have to spend an excessive amount of time on the phone with the IRS trying to resolve. So much for the $247!!! Please put these folks out of business.
I cant believe these guys still exist after what happened to me that is almost exactly the same as other people who have written on here. This has been going on way too long and its not for a measly $5...its $247 and they need to be stopped!!!! I am guessing this site is not the answer and they don't have the juice to make these people stop.
Went online to file for a FEIN number on the IRS.gov site and they ask for a payment of $247.00 so it was right away the money was debit from my card. It's been almost 2weeks no numbers. So I like a refund on my money. Thx
This company, after a mistake made by my daugther attempting to obtain her State ID and thought she was dealing with the IRS, refused to refund the money and cancel the ID. Rude customer service, hung up on me, threatened me, etc. I would suggest no one use this company, and deal directly with the IRS.
Misrepresents that they are a department of the IRS.
On March 17, 2014, I went online to the irs website to obtain an EIN and I was informed that I had to pay $197.00 via credit card, then I completed the application, got a confirmation number and now I find out that the EIN service is FREE. I want to know, WHO did I pay $197.00? My transaction ID: 10000144D34800AF I am such a goof!!
You are not the only one. I was just ripped of $ 249.00. Why would IRS let such sites exist. Is the EIN number provided correct?
