Edwin Gfeller Air Conditioning was able to rip us off on 2 separate occasions. The first occasion was when he gave me an estimate over the phone for a part for my AC unit of $100. Once at my house, and when the old part was already removed, the price quickly jumped to $200. He said he only quoted the part and not his service fees when he quoted me over the phone. Edwin ran to Home Depot and purchased a $12-15 part and claims it came from the manufacturer. Fast forward one month after this service and my AC unit stops working. I had to use a separate company to come out and look at my AC unit for my home warranty. This other company was quickly able to diagnose the issue and an improperly installed part by Edwin. I never told this company that that part had been recently installed and let them come to this conclusion on their own. Edwin actually installed a 30 amp part on a unit rated for a minimum of 33 amps. I contacted Edwin and asked for a full refund. Beside yelling at me on the phone, he asked me to write him a letter explaining why he should refund my money. Edwin also asked to call me back after he calls the manufacturer (on a Saturday) to verify the part he put on was okay or not. He called me back and said the manufacturer said it was okay to use. I asked Edwin for the number of the manufacturer so I could call or suggested we do a conference call to which Edwin became more belligerent on the phone. I asked why the other company diagnosed my non-working AC as an improper part to which Edwin responded, "because they wanted to make money. All you needed was a new fuse." He ended up hanging up the phone on me. Be aware of this ripoff artist. He doesn't have much of a web or internet presence suggesting he is a fly by night ripoff artist.
