Hello, first I want to say that I was excited to get the e-collar and accessories from Educator Collar. I read the reviews, seen how they worked, and loved the features. This was all well and good until I decided to take Educator Collars up on the "100% Money Back 60 days from purchase" guarantee if not completely satisfied with their product. The device itself was great and we have decided to keep the PE-900 because it performs like it should. This review is because of the customer service I received on the collar.

I purchased the Educator Biothane Strap w/ Metal Quick Snap and was not satisfied with it because it rubbed my dogs neck raw in just a few hours of wearing. We decided to reduce the time he wore it to just 30 minutes training sessions. Now to answer the question about the contact points, we purchased the Titanium contact points and installed those immediately and the location that the points touch is undamaged on the dog.

Reducing the amount of time it was worn did not rectify the issue, so I decided I wasn't satisfied with this product and wanted to either return it or exchange it.

During my conversation with "Byron" I discussed that I was wanting to exchange this collar for the Biothane Bungee Strap w/ Metal Quick Snap. I told them that it was already cut for my dog's neck and was informed that this item could not be exchanged because of this. I reviewed everywhere on the site to see if it mentioned that cutting the strap null and voids the 100% satisfaction guarantee. After reviewing the site, I asked Byron if it was posted on the site that if the strap was cut it couldn't be exchanged. Byron then said, "Umm, I don't think it says that but just more of an obvious thing where the strap has been cut and not reselable", next comment, "Im sure you understand that". (Yes, typos, but it is exactly how the message was received from Byron) I go on letting him know that customers are not to assume what Educator Collar policies are. Byron then goes on to say that most people know that you cannot cut, destroy something and expect to return it. Byron even then compares his company against Amazon, keep in mind I didn't mention Amazon. I've returned items that broke, I damaged, my kids damaged, and such to many different retailers, yes Amazon included because the "policies stated you could do so". But it all comes down to the "Guarantee" this is posted all over the Educator Collar site and according to Byron this doesn't apply to collars.

So yes, I like the PE-900 I bought, minus the Ramp feature, and was not 100% satisfied with the collar. Educator Collars has a guarantee posted that they are not willing to stand behind 100% because "customers" are to assume policies. If everyone was to assume policies, then this world would be very criminal because we could assume pretty much anything as a customer.

I will no longer do business with Educator Collars and will continue to put my review on other sites just in case this one doesn't get approved. Because all reviews are subject to approval is posted on this review box, there is a chance that only positive reviews will be allowed on their site. So, if you are reading this on Educator Collars website, then good for you Educator at least you have some honesty in you. I have screenshots of the entire conversation with Byron that I will use to show the validity of this review as well.

Update:

Byron gave me a call just moments before I posted this review and said that he had spoken with the General Manager. Byron was informed that I could return the strap for a full refund and then re-purchase the strap that I need. This is great and all, and I'm happy that they at least attempted to rectify this issue. But that doesn't change the fact that I will still no longer do business with this company, who still even after the call says that customers should automatically assume this isn't possible. I will stick with the retailers and small businesses that live up to their claims the first time.
