We contacted Courtney Beggs to help our child get into college. Specifcially we wanted to help our son with his college essay, and any other aspects, which we as parents might have missed. Ms. Beggs is a professor in writing at Curry College. She was refrerred to us.
Our son has a 4.0 GPA, so we didn't expect him to have problems getting accepted into the many schools where he applied. He did well on all his entrance exams. We were surprised at the cost Ms. Beggs charged, but we were willing to pay it if she was nearly as good as she advertised. She was bossy, arrogant and made us believe we would get accepted in any college we applied to with her as our advisor.
Her arrogance borderlined on narcissim, but we tolerated it. She belittled our suggestions - "I'm sorry, but this is my livelihood; I know what wins, you don't!" We followed all instructions provided to us by Courtney Beggs. The end result was that our son was accepted NOWHERE. NOWHERE.
Ms. Beggs convinced us that we shouldn't waste our time and money on a backup application, because she was certain he would be accepted among his primary choices. I hold Ms. Beggs accountable for our son 's failure to be accepted. His friends are now going to school in the Fall. He will take a gap year.
I let my husband deal with Courtney Beggs, because frankly I found her personality obnoxious. My husband and I are separated because of Ms. Beggs. He admitted that he felt sorry for Ms. Beggs, who ended a marital engagement this past November 2021 with her fiance, named Josh.
In short, he confessed that in a moment of weakness, he allowed her to seduce him. I believe Courtney Beggs is a wholly ineffective and overpriced college advisor, who engages in activity inconsistent with her paid task. In my opinion I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND AGAINST Courtney Beggs as a College Advisor, and would recommend against allowing her in my home.
