Horrendous! Horrendous experience! The extremely poor reviews about this brand by other customers should tell you to look elsewhere for peace of mind. I had subscribed to their basic Venture plan, but never completed my account set-up or ever used their services, as I had changed my business model shortly after to focus on content marketing alone and operate without an online store.
I was tied up with creating content and setting up my new website when I received a charge of $15 on my debit card for their plan earlier today, for a service that I clearly never used. I had a good impression about this business at first, but was unaware that lurking behind their cheery, friendly-looking website is a cut-throat billing policy which charges customers who do not even use their services!
I had contacted their online support immediately on receiving the charge on my card and politely requested for the refund but their agent responded by telling me that they do not offer refunds on their paid plans! What?!
I did not even use your plan! Extremely frustrated, I informed her that this was a grossly unjust business practice and she responded by vaguely telling me that the billing team will contact me. However, I grew suspicious when I noticed that I did not receive a copy of our chat on my registered email address - which is the standard practice by ethical businesses, worldwide.
I subsequently tried to get another agent online to clarify, but the wait time is beyond unreasonable with customers being stuck in their snail-paced chat queue that keeps reconnecting and takes more than half-an-hour to reach an agent - only to disconnect!
To the Ecwid management, since you are blissfully unaware - the customer is king in any business and charging them unfairly, then trying to hide evidence of their refund request and further frustrating them with long support wait times and unkept promises only highlight your callous attitude towards client accountability. Pathetic state of affairs!
The other reviews about you speak for themselves. Your apathy and lack of transparency have cost you a customer who was thinking of using your services at a later date, had he not discovered your shady and greedy billing practices! In spite of my repeated communication, their billing or customer care does not even have the decency to reply to a customer! Even Jeff Bezos replies to customer complaints! Ecwid - stay in your dream world! Your customers will go elsewhere.
