I received a statement from the IRS claiming I owe $323.00 back to IRS for not reporting a settlement that I never received. It says I received $1321.00 one time and $ 789.00 another time. IRS claims this was reported in 2014. It says a debt was cancelled. I never received a notification that any debt was cancelled and I needed to report it to IRS.
I recieved a letter from the IRS stating I owe them for a 1099C I never recieved for a cancellation of debt from ECAST Settlement Corporation. I have no idea what this company is or what this debt was. I never authorized a cancellation of any debt and now I cannot reach this company to investigate.
