I was getting my new Resturant reddy for grand opning. On Friday morning last week I found out that someone stole the electrical meter. I wasn't so sure what or why that happend. I contacted DTE to report Dowen wire and to re-stoer the power. they assure me that they will be in fixing the problem ASAP.
I also reported the incident to the police station in Troy.
Dowen wire is an emergncy, no one show up until Monday just to cover the dowen wire. I kept on calling to get updates, Spoke to almost everyone Including 2 supervisor. I was on the phone and on hold for a long time, very frustrated.
finally yesterday aound 1:00 pm one person showed up and in 5 minuts put a new meter. still no power.
he said "thats not me, someone else will come and check the wire"
As of today Friday 4/7/2017 no one show or follow up with me, or explain any reason for the delay.
I cancelled my Health department pre- opning inspections twice, I was so exited to open my new resturant after getting all of the inspection from the city of troy approved, Hoping to do my grand opning on Easter.
Extended wait for $25.00 visa gift card!!!! dte home protection plan 4 months gone by still have'nt recieved $25.00 visa gift card as promised for joining program!!!!!!! fraud for $25.00 visa gift card!!!!
DTE disconnected my service after being 10 minutes late of my payment posting. Not only did I have to pay the full amount they are also claiming I have to pay $341.00 reconnection fee and a $20.00 reconnect meter fee within 10 days ............All for a total of $306.00.
Reconnection fees are more then my total amount due - including the past due!
To my knowledge I NEVER received a Disconnection Notice - has I received a notice the would never have happened.
I believe DTE has targeted me with over charges for electricty. The bills went from an average of $250 a month to $650 - $1000 a month. I have disputed the bills but they deny my dispute claiming the meter is correct . My next option is to hire a lawyer.
DTE's protection plan failed to repair my furnace during the coldest days of a michigan winter. I had signed up and payed monthly for years for this program (i live on a fixed income so I bought this for piece of mind)
My furnace decided to quit during the coldest night this year. I called DTE and they set up an appointment for a protection plan repair person to visit my home. The appointment was scheduled for the following day leaving us a second night without heat. This was a very cold situation but space heaters kept us warm enough.
The repairman showed as scheduled....told me the furnace had a cracked heat exchanger and could not be repaired and I would have to buy a new furnace, I asked if it was covered by the plan he said no. He continued by disconecting the gas lines and hanging a condemed tag on the furnace and left.
I looked at the furnace and googled the results and found that a cracked heat exchanger can be fixed but it is costly. So instead of fixing it they decided they would just deam it unrepairable.
Do not buy this plan. They said that because I had not upgraded my plan to a more costly 70+ dollar plan I was not covered.
DO NOT BOTHER TO PURCHASE THIS PLAN unless you are able to afford the top plans which can only be purchased if you pay for the first plan (lowest cost @29 dollars a month) plus the cost of the upgraded plan.
It is useless your manufacturers warranties will usually cover your appliances for the first couple of years.
Status update: I had to use costly space heaters for myself and my little one for days until I was able to find a company to replace my furnace.
Okay around 2013 somebody fradgually opened up a Dte account in my name so I called Dte when I could out in 2014 to do a fraud investigation nothing chaged nothing approved so o agreed to pay he fraud balance of $148 thinking that I could get the services in my name next thing I kno they telling me I gotta pay a $700 deposit but y'all let this other person open up a account and failed to ask them personal questions to verify who they wore.
Signed up for DTE Energy Home Protection Plan -- all appliance plus furnace/AC called for service on electric wall oven and at the same time told rep I didn't think to add a second oven ( I have 2 stacked wall ovens) ok .. no problem rep added the 2nd oven for $4.95/mo Service comes out -- part is unavailable due to age sooo ... I now have one good oven :) and one dead oven ... I called DTE/HPP to cancel the 2nd oven I had added.... this is """within 2-3 days """ of adding the 2nd.. was told she did not have authority wod put in request -- should know within 30 days ... Called again after 3 months -- She said she couldn't take it off (asked to remove it within days of adding it...) needed to stay on for one year ..... ONE YEAR !!!! Washer repair -- came out fixed problem (2week wait on part ???) BUT created another one -- they then sent out another company Not sure if I like this plan ....,,
