I purchased the DriverSupport.com application for $9.99 to analyze and download missing or updated drivers reported by the "free" version of this program. A one-time $9.99 seemed to be a fair price for testing the effectiveness of such a product. SCAM ALERT! They don't make it clear that they will bill you on a monthly subscription basis.
So far I have been billed $109.89 for this software that has never worked as described by vendor. In short, if you run the application and it will report 21 or more outdated drivers and offer to download them. I could never install them, because they were always for a different version of MS Windows. I visited my PC manufacturer's diagnostic site and found out that all my drivers were up to date.
Driversupport.com is more than a fraud. The application loads malware onto your system that is difficult to remove. It's a sweet scam that earns enough money to pay any number of shills to promote it aggressively.
Please understand, that Driver Support is scripted to show you these fake scan results regardless of the computer you are on and how clean and up to date it is.
Therefore, do not be concerned by any of the scan results as they are only being shown to scare you into thinking that you have a serious computer problem. There are instructions on various sites on how to remove the malware, including: https://youtu.be/3eTaIKzjTAA
I bought a $9.99 update your drivers package. Was surprised to get an email thanking me for buying a subscription. I had no idea I had bought a subscription. They did not make this clear.
I emailed as soon as I knew to cancel. They responded that after looking at my account THEY felt I had the wrong driver support package or maybe I didn't know how to use it.
This made me even madder. I asked for a refund NOT for help - My reason for wanting a refund was stated clearly in my refund request, that reason being, Hey, you pulled a fast one on me by signing me up for a subscription without me know it...I don't want to do business with you.
Then I had to request a refund all over again. That was the only option I had. So I did. THEN I receive an email stating moneys already paid are not refundable.
Wow! Why didn't you just tell me that in the email you sent me in response to my refund request? I will tell you why, they still wanted to rope me into their service and/or wanted to stretch the process out so they could charge another month to my bank account.
Sleazy company. Wil I miss the $9.99 cents? Of course not. Companies like this need to be called out.
Using Nortan safsearch I searched for a Lan driver update found Driversupport and trusted becuse nortan found the websight to be safe I downloaded read the info exceped and installed the program extracted ( EXTRACTED) several dll files and moved them! At this point I became suspichas... it whint threw its prosess and free trial report was made prompting me to fix the sead pc driver updates ( there were 5 total new P.C build) after the click I was derected to the payment page wanting 26$ way to much; windows offers the drivers for free.! After revewing thr driver listed for the hardware I rempved the program only to find out I now can not update windows, or hardware becose the dll files were extracted and moved as stated in the user agremint after revewing this file and checking there uninstall instructions two sepret tasks are requierd to fix there changes that requier a program wrighter to move and rewright some files.
Do to the extraction of the files (dd.ill) there is no need to extract or to move the files it only needs to copy!!! So if you or I do not pay for there service they will cause your computer or device to no longer work properly.
On April 1, 2016 I downloaded updated computer drivers from Driver Support. I used the Agent Assist on the phone to install the program for me remotely. After 30 minutes on the phone with the Agent Assist it was determined that the tech could not scan my computer to install some of the updates. She then wanted me to take my computer to a Best Buy store 30 miles away for them to fix it. I don't trust Best Buy techs due to previous experience with them.
At that point I told the agent assist to cancel everything since I had to go back to work. I uninstalled the program within 3 hours after that. They charged my credit card anyway and after 2 emails sent over 10 days I received a reply instructing me how to reinstall the software. I replied to them advising that if they didn't want to refund my money I would dispute the charge with my credit card company and they could deal with them.
MY computer was working fine except that I lost a driver for my printer when I went to windows 10. So i contacted DRIVER SUPPORT for them to replace the driver for a charge of $39.94
Afer they finished working on my computer over the internet foe 30-40 min. they said it was in a "boot loop" which they caused and that they could fix it for about $295...my computer is now useless. THIS IS A SCAM
They refunded my $39.94... big deal... THEY DESTROYED MY COMPUTER
