I found this website, "poppypodsellers", referred by others on YouTube. It was the holiday season and we wanted to make wreaths with dried pods for family. Something custom, unique & special that would last.
I contacted the company, GBH, one of their names, exchanged a few emails about shipping, payment options, etc. I placed an order costing $420. It seemed a fair price for the amount and quality compared to what else was available.
They had approximately five payment options all of which, I found later, were untraceable. I chose Zelle as the least complicated and fastest method.
The person , "Jonathan", picked up the cash right away and that was the last I heard from them.
I tried every which way to contact them/him to no avail. I don't know how to use WhatsApp and my cell service not good for the international call/number.
I found another website, "driedpoppypodsonline", months later that was set up the exact same way as poppypodsellers. I placed an order with them and within a few minutes they were texting me. Assuring me they'd overnight even though I hadn't asked about that and shipping was included. Nobody with a legit business offers overnight shipping included with order especially if the customer didn't ask for it. They had bad English and spelling. When I mentioned their website was a duplicate of poppypodsellers they claimed not to know Jonathan or anything about website.
I ruined any chance of tracking them then as they also disappeared. Next day their website item pics, etc., were all changed, everything but the prices, which were exactly what the other site listed, same sizes/amounts and types for same cost.
A new development after contact with this duplicate website, remember this is months later now, the initial site/company blocked my email. I'm pretty sure they were/are the same scammers/thieves running both sites.
It's too bad these online scams are so rampant with no way to trace stolen funds! At least the public is being made aware of the Zelle payment option and why it shouldn't be used unless you know the person. Thank goodness for Ripoff taking this small step in the right direction of this huge problem! Publicizing as much info as we can gather on/for these thieves even if we don't get refunds or they don't get caught, maybe we can slow down their victim count!
