I am Paul Gallo who closed on a home 3 years ago, February 14, 2014, in the Village at Rolesville, lot VRV151. I am writing to you for some help and guidance. I have the the Wyngate model that the interior walls were pushed out, as recommended by the selling agent, Deborah. I even had to pay extra because no matter what house went on this lot I was told needed a tall crawl to construct. I have a bad taste in my mouth over that, but I went along with what the selling agent told us when buying. From the beginning there has been problems with the foundation structure of the house. John Butler did whatever he could to correct the problems. He put at lot a time and effort into the problem Putting shims under the cabinets and the granite to push back the cabinets to wall.
I even hired an outside engineer who stated that the pillars are not giving enough support to the house. John Butler had a company come a shim under the house too. But again the cabinets in the kitchen are pulling away from the walls. The wood floor from the kitchen to the master bedroom now has a large gap. Other parts of the house are showing stress also. The floors are not level again and the stairs to the second floor are showing stress and balance problems. When using the laundry the entire house shakes. The machine is perfectly level and balanced, but even my engineer stated there was not enough support under the laundry area. I am at my wits end watching this house keep shifting. I was informed, whether true or not, never know what to believe in today's world, that your company stopped constructing the Wyngate model due to structural problems. I would love for you, yourself to see what is happening. 2nd email Dear Mr Drees: Thank you for putting John Butler back in touch with me to discuss my concerns, but I requested to meet with you One on one. The reason for the early email was have you come to my house personally, to see how your homes are being built. I truly feel bad sometime for John Butler. I had to deal with all the inferior construction and mistakes that were done. If it was done correctly from the beginning post construction wouldn't have to deal with so many problems and take so long to make corrections or even given the proper authority to fix the problems. I was not here when the house was built and before the closing on February14 2014 I could not even be afforded a walk through. I was told there was not enough time that day. When I arrived back in Rolesville on March 2, 2014 and walked through the house there were so many mistakes and complete ignorance to the my home I almost wanted to call my attorneys. When I finally did the walk through with the construction manager, I threw him out. He had an excuse for every problem. Problems that could Even be seen by a young child. Even to the point of blaming me for not being here before closing. I am surprised you didn't hear me. Screws though the cabinets. Cracked cabinets. Ceilings that were separating. The list goes on and on. I paid extra to have the entire front of the house pushed 3 feet to the front. Problem is they never redid the plan and my dining room is completely off center. Nothing can be done now. Not unless the whole front is redone. I want you to come see all the problems that come up and up every year. When I was called for a reference and review of Drees Homes it was not good. This is Your company and a family owned business and bears your name. I know you must take pride in your product and your family name. I will expect you to visit my home where I can show you the many faults in building from your out sources . Inside and out. There are so many miracles John Butler can pull off. An engineer needs to be hired along with a construction architect to correct the stableness of his house. Instead of fixing the foundation issues, shims were used over and over again by the inferior cabinet installing company to push the cabinets back to the wall. Not the proper way to correct the problem. The floors and so uneven and now even the upper floor is being affected.[Even if I wanted to sneak out of the house I couldn't because so many floors just sing with creeking noises. And I upgraded to wood floors.] I hired two different engineers and had the reports sent to your company. My engineer was here even when two guys started putting shims in the foundation. He advised them that wasn't the proper way to correct the problem. They just did it the fastest and cheapest way to fix with a bandaid. . Would you like it handled this way if it was your house. Sorry I am so upset, but this my HOME. Not just a house. If it wasn't for John Butler I would have gone to the BBB and filed a complaint. You can thank John that didn't happen up till now. And also being screwed by the sales agent for additional charges that should have been supplied with the building of a house on this lot. I learned my lesson on the building of this house. I should have hired an inspector and attorney. This is Not my 1st new home build. I never ever had this many problems. Look forward to seeing you soon. I meet with John Butler on Wednesday.
