Dr. Denese Skin Science business practices are designed specifically to RIP-YOU-OFF. Everything about this experience is designed to deceive you by getting "installment" payments out of you for a bill that you paid-in-full, with unclear explanations, and to keep you on the hook for an unlimited time by continuing to supposedly deliver products to you that you did not order. Dr. Denese Skin Science may be skirting the line of legality - but make no mistake - their goal is to take your money by deceptive means.
I saw Dr. Denese Skin Science's special offer on TV. They offered a selection of skin care products for the seemingly reasonable price of $59.95. Everything from the advertising to the online purchase indicated that the price for their 7-piece, 90 day collection was $59.95 - period. They refer to it on their website as "Our Best Offer," and say "Maximum Results Collection Reg $190," with a line through the $190, another indication that you were getting the package for $59.95. I ordered the package and they delivered.
Then much to my surprise, I started getting regular bills from Dr. Denese Skin Science. By some lucky accident, the credit card I originally used was lost and therefore cancelled, so they did not get the chance to pull their scam on me, but it could still hurt my credit. I was clear that I had paid the $59.95 that I agreed to pay. So when I got their "Priority Message" from their "EXPRESS RESPONSE DEPARTMENT" with "RESPONSE REQUIRED," a collection notice telling me that I owed an adidtional $119.90, I called. I knew immediately that I was onto a scam when they said, "You got the 90-day supply and you only paid for the first 30 days. The bill is for the next 60-days." WHAAAT??!!
Dr. Denese Skin Science RIPOFF ARTISTS continue to assert that I own them an additional $119.90 for a product for which I was 100% CLEAR that I agreed to pay and paid $59.95. And for all their "explanation" of their business model online, while they continued to bill me TWICE for a bill I had already paid, the NEVER delivered any additional product.
So here's the deal: sign-up for Dr. Denese Skin Science and you will be billed 3 times what you thought you agreed to and at some point in this vaguely defined process, they will deliver you more product for which you will be billed 3 times what you never agreed to, and if you don't put a stop to it, the Dr. Denese Skin Science RIPOFF ARTISTS will milk you dry!!!
I orderded from the TryDrd after seeing their informercial advertising for $39.95. Unbeknownst to me, that locked me into an additional shipment with 3 monthly payments of $43.28 each.
I sent an email on 3 May requesting cancellation of the auto-delivery program. I received a response, also 3 May, advising me that my total for March was $137.63 with a remaining balance of $43.28. I agreed to pay the remaining balance and the withdraw was made on 17 May. I misunderstood the response I received and therefore, received another shipment in July; locking me into another $129.84. I was not advised that the shipment I requested be postponed (until July) would cause me to incur another 3 month billing cycle. I wasn't aware that I had been locked in to another $129.84 until they tried to take the payment and it was denied. As luck would have it, I lost my debit card a week prior and had a new one issued.
I will be sending the July shipment back and will hopefully be done with this company.
