I can't believe how shocked, upset and disappointed I am with what happened at the Invisalign Summit last week in Washington DC. I got my staff that happens to be all women, tickets and hotel to attend the summit.
We were all existed to learn more about Invisalign and to take my practice to the next level. On the second day, we attended Dr. Galler's (who calls himself The Wolf of Invisalign) award ceremony. While demanding and forcing us to wear his "Wolf of Invisalign" T-shirts, Dr. Galler played a video that was degrading, tasteless not to mention humiliating women. This video had clips of him in bed with naked women. I was so embarrassed and ashamed of his actions being there with my staff; needless to say we became very uncomfortable and ended up walking out.
To make matters worse Dr. Galler send us a video thru an app called WhatsApp at 3am in the morning. Where he is laying on the floor in a hotel room with a pillow on him and has a girl in a bunny costume jump up and down on a bed and leap off of the bed and land on top of him. How can this shameful act from this male chauvinist sexist be an encouragement for anyone regardless of gender? How can Invisalign condone such a behavior? How can any practice be motivated after Dr. Gallers disrespectful behavior to go back to their office and start selling Invisalign? How is demeaning women leaping off a bed at 3:00 in the morning and landing on top off you going to encourage/motivate us to want to learn about Invisalign or better yet want to sell Invisalign at our practice?
This mortifying act by Dr. Galler has me second guessing Invisalign and now looking into other companies as an alternative clear aligner for my practice. Just a tidbit for anyone who does not know where the Wolf of Invisalign came from, it's from a move called The Wolf of Wall Street. The films synopsis is about a man conning and defrauding people out of their money while partaking in a hedonistic brew of sex, drugs and thrills.
I guess Invisalign’s business model mirrors Dr. Gallers actions due to him being allowed to play such a horrific video at their annual summit. I feel ripped off for having to closed my practice to attend the summit and for the amount of money spent to go to this regretful event!
