I was trying to find a provider to stream live football games and was directed to donnaplay. the site said it needed to have my card number to complete my registration but would not be charged as I was just getting a 7 day free trial. I was a little skeptical but I really wanted to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers and I am out of that local market.
Thankfully they couldn't verify my card number that day and that made me try to back out of the deal. I knew I put the right number in because I verified it personally before I submitted it. I deleted all of my info from the site and thought that was the end of it. To the contrary.
Two days later my bank contacted me to see if I authorized a payment for 1 cent. I did not and they froze my card and are sending me a new one. I certainly hope that me writing this complaint will help stop this fraudulent company from ripping anyone else off.
Donnaplay.com is a movie, game, book, and music site that allows you to download, listen, or view all of these for $34.95. I'm not sure if that's a one-time fee or recurring monthly fee. I made the mistake of signing up for Donnaplay.com thinking I could probably catch a sporting event that wasn't on tv that night.
When they asked for my credit card information, they said no charge would be applied until 3 days later. Knowing how I am with websites, I decided to decline the offer and cancelled less than 10 minutes after exchanging my card information. Well 2 days later, I was notified that I was upgraded and $9.95 charge just happened upon my credit card anyway.
I notified the company of THEIR error and they told me it would be 5 to 10 business days before I could get my money back. I was furious. That money shouldn't have left my card in the first place. I do further investigation on the company to find out that they've done several people this way. One guy was even charged $34.95 and wonders how they even got his credit card number in the first place.
I want them shut down. It's companies like this that give the internet a bad name in the first place. Stay away from Donnaplay.com. They are crooks and quite possibly hackers.
