Everything was great at first. Then the first thing broke. It was a fight to get her to send out repairmen to fix the fridge - and this kept breaking, at least 3 times without being replaced. Then there was storm damage and she argued about sendign the repair man out to fix this - but we could not get our electricty turned back on until it was fixed. No heat for the ENTIRE winter, she was told at least three times. No AC for latter part of one summer and beginning of the next.
Not fixed. Toilets backed up, over a month of fussing with her to send out plumber - she wanted to use home remedies on it which I tried not no effect. The wiring in the house was bad, the porches falling apart with nails poking up, the back yard fence had to be propped up with a pole, the gate did not lock - the list could go on. Simple fixes, most of them, but it grew ever more clear she cared NOT for her property just the money she received for it.
Yes, we broke the lease and moved out. Got tired of the toilets not working, the floor sinking and weakening, and the other things which put us at great fear for the safety of our children. I will even admit, prior to her rebuttal of venom as she did to the last reporter of her slum lord ways - that I did decide if SHE did not care about her property, neither did I. Left it a nice, horrible mess for her. Bad call on my part, screwed myself in the long run since I'll have to make reparations for that mess but - the petty side of me enjoyed doing it. Why? She put my children's health at risk by neglecting to fix a thing in the house. That is not OK. Should have reported her to the city.
