Done With Loans Reviews
I am in the process of foregoing student loans forgiveness from ITT Technical Institute ceasing operations. I sent a form to the Department of Education this week with my information. I sent my information through https://debtcollective.org/ which sent a form to the correct ED.gov email and information into http://itttechinstituteloanforgiveness.com/. I believe this scam attempt came from the latter.
I got a voicemail from "Roy with Student Aid Group". It was from 844-869-8785. He gave a toll free number and extension to call back. I called back and got a receptionist. The receptionist put me on hold to see if he was available but he was not so he would have to call back.
He called back almost immediately and explained that he is from the Student Aid Group and that they work in compliance with Department of Education. I asked what company he is calling from and he repeated "Student Aid Group".
He asked how much I owe on student loans and how much I earned. He explained that this was a very high loan for that amount of income.
He then sent an email to legitimize his company as an LLC from [email protected]:
1. Our official company website is www.donewithloans.com
2. We are a legally registered LLC recognized by the Secretary of State. You can search for that information here: kepler.sos.ca.gov
TO SEARCH: 1. Check the circle that says "Limited Liability Corporation"
2. Search "Done With Loans LLC"
3. We are proud members of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and The Better Business Bureau, and are registered by The Association for Student Loan Debt Relief.

He said I would be sent an email with an access code. I received the email right then and it was a Forgot My Password Request from the Department of Education with the link to gain access to https://fsaid.ed.gov and a Secure Code.
He wanted me to give him the Secure Code over the phone so that they could gain access and see if I qualify for Loan Forgiveness. I quickly scoured the internet for DoneWithLoans.com for third-party verification of this company. I told him I was trying to figure out if they were a scam or not. He said that I could call back once I do my research because so many ITT Tech students are calling in that he doesn't have time and hung up.
Basically, Done With Loans, LCC is attempting to gain access to personal Federal Student Aid Federal Student Aid on users' behalf via password resets by obtaining email addresses & phone numbers of people interested in Loan Forgiveness, going to https://fsaid.ed.gov, clicking Forgot Password, and asking for the Secure Code sent to their email.
