Unethical Service/Warranty issues at Dixie Buick GMC! I brought my 2014 GMC Sierra to Dixie's Service Department for repair to the master cylinder. It was still under warranty and my service ticket showed the repair and rental car had no charge with $0 due (Under Warranty).
Upon picking up my truck, I was assured it was repaired. As I drove my truck through the parking lot and attempted to brake, I quickly discovered it wasn't fixed! I turned around and brought the truck back to Dixie's Service Department. A mechanic then test drove it and came to the same conclusion.
Seriously! They sent me with off with a truck that didn't have operating brakes! I was told to leave the truck, continue renting the car and Service would contact me when they figured out the problem and how to fix it.
Three hours later they called to say they found what the problem was; get this.
they said there was contaminated fluid in the brake lines....the very lines they would have had to bleed to complete the master cylinder repair. Now, with this new discovery, they were going to charge me for the repair and the rental!
You can be sure they double-dipped GMC with a warranty submission. Dixie's owner was made aware of the situation but stood by this unethical practice to rip-off his customers while getting corporate to pay the warranty. I am not the first customer to fall victim to Dixie's unethical practices and don't want you or someone you know to be the next.
The Service manager told me I had to pay for the repair, his words "You either pay for the repair or go to the court house to get my truck". I ended up using my credit card just so I could get my truck.
