My loan agreement included handing over my utility company rebate and tax rebate. Until my tax rebate hits in 2017, I will be paying an "incentive payment".
This incentive payment is an interest only payment and which means I'll be giving dividend solar an additional $1200 on top of my loan amount. This term "incentive payment" is misleading and should be called a deterrent. The earlier in the year you finalize the installation, the more you will pay. If I weren't deceived by the wording I would have delayed the install till later in the year.
EXAMPLE, I had my installation finalized in March so I will be making interest only payment till I receive my solar tax rebate in March 2017 which could cost me up to $1200. If my neighbor has a system installed in November or December, they will only be making a couple months of "incentive payments.
