DISTROKID distributes music made by artists to online stores such as itunes, google play and spotify
then collect the royalties and passes them on to the artist.
This is not what distrokid actually does, what he does is distribute your music, collects your money and steals it, altering the stores earnings reports to match whatever he is taking, then when you start to do well, and you know you should be making way more than what you are getting.
He comes up with some irrational excuse, mine was; "Your music may contain unauthorized samples" for this reason we are forced to cancel your account.
As I paid for a year of distribution up front, i demanded refund.
he said i violated policy and the funds were not refundable, this company has stolen THOUSANDS from me, and I am not alone.
Go google distrokid steals money, see who else comes up. they need to be shut down!!!
Distrokid fraudulently advertises music distribution and royalty collection services to independent musicians that they do not fulfill upon. Their music distribution implementations are full of errors. Music is not present on many stores that they claim to distribute to. Music is frequently not discoverable in stores (shadow-banned), and is noted, but not playable on many stores.
After over 250,000 streams of my content, Distrokid has only reported/collected about ten dollars of royalties; most streams without Distrokid paying any royalties at all. Distrokid also violates copyright, not removing content from specific stores in a timely fashion, after specifically denying DK the rights to distribute to said stores (YouTube), directly violating DMCA laws. Every attempt I have made to work directly with Distrokid to resolve extensive issues has resulted in delays, obfuscation, CYA messages, lack of timely escalation of legal issues, and so much more.
While Distrokid promises to help indie musicians gain exposure, and be present in streaming services, they fail to demonstrate any authentic interest in helping indie musicians at all; rather PREVENTING their potential success through improper implementations, disadvantageous agreements with streaming services, with wasted time in locating and resolving countless livet site errors, in the violation of artist copyrights, and by not paying any semblance of fair royalties to artists. Then they charge the artists for the services that they fail to deliver.
I have a problem with distrokid, I have been using it for a long time and since last saturday in the bank section my earnings are not showing up at 0.00 as if I never withdraw, and I had 466 dollars available to withdraw, I would like to know if Someone did the same
