I've used dish tv for a few years. When frequent blackouts and general unreliability of "service" became intolerable, I endured an half-hour of elevator music ultimately ending with first, a rude, customer 'service" agent demanding an explanation for the cancellation.
The barely perceptable, mousey voice required the explanation or she could not continue with the cancellation. After hearing my repeated requests to speak to a supervisor or manager, Becky asked the same question. An observation is that this explanation does not benefit me; it benefits them. It seems usury to require personal information before a "service" provider will release its prey.
The second agent finally understood that I would not provide an explanation and interrupting her recital of the exciting and highly desirous plans just waiting for me, I was informed that I must pay an eighty dollar ($80.00) cancellation fee. Further, dish would charge me fifteen dollars ($15.00) to send me a pickup box for their three (3) or four (4) year old equipment.
Apparently, if I again become ill and am unable to return their hi-tech equipment, they'll make an additional charge of up to three-hundred ($300.00) and change if not returned within 15 days. Plus, I get to deliver the sealed box tot he carrier. There is no pick-up service afforded me for my fifteen dollar ($15.00) charge.
I become ill at age 74. That's the way it is and little can prevent it. I am VA rated at 70% disabled though fairly slow and broken, I'm just fine but for a lack of sleep. Sure, boo -h*o for me but facts are facts.
Dish tv really must need my money, I don't. Gas and food costs must plague dish tv, the poor guys! They've increased my rate over the years, apparently believing that my social security and Veteran's disability payments would increase. Guess what....
Were I aware of what these 'people' are fundamentally and sorely lacking in integrity, I would have avoided any contact whatsoever. Oh, I so wish I had!!
Dish is now running a new TV commercial stating that they have a 99% reliability and that they're showing the TV is not going out during a storm. In this commercial they are showing a guy laying on the couch and the TV never goes out....It's false b*******. Don't believe the hype that they are trying to create. Their TV signal goes out every single storm.
Rep never stated that Dish TV does not have CBS local or national programming in SWFL. Imagine that. A major network not included. Channel guide lists that they have CBS. If I knew, I never would have signed up. Way too many Standard definition programming. Direct TV has more High Def programming and so fa,r I feel a better picture as well.
There are stations that are in HD on Direct TV that are only in SD in Dish. Customer service won't work with me even though I notified them on the first day of my unhappiness. Yes, I can get out of the contract but will have to pay a penalty of $20 per month (in my case $480) of what is left of the contract.
I am actually contemplating this. Should have streamed instead of going to Dish. There is a reason I read industry articles stating that DISH TV won't survive. Good! The sooner they collapse, the better! Stay away.
Dish TV is trying to charge us an early termination fee after we have been good customers for over two years. when we tried to leave to go to another service after more than two years, they claim we renewed our service, in December of 2018. We did not. They said that they would research it and send us proof. Then they said we would have to subpoena the proof. I told them that I did not have to subpoena anything. I knew that I did not renew, and that I did not need to subpoena anything. I filed a BBB report, BBB did not require Dish to give any explanation of why they were doing what they did, they merely accepted Dish word. I am not sure why BBB calls themselves a Consumer Investigative Bureau, because they have become just a spokes person for their large customers. Dish is losing hundreds of thousands of customers to Direct TV and streaming services, and is desperate to do anything to keep customers.
Dish caught repeatedly making unauthorized ACH's against a Customer account when account was in good standing already. Theft-
I was enticed to go to Dish being promised the world and I should of known, if the deal is to good to be true, it likely is. This company is a bunch of crooks!
The equipment is substandard, doesn't work half the time and the SRS people who are supposed to be the final word of problem solving either lie or don't respond at all.
We are on a fixed income, I am disabled and recently I noticed that Dish was taking in a $20 dollar charge on my Bank account every two weeks and when I called I was put through hell for three hours before being transferred to Ashley, an SRS Team member.
She stated that she was leaving on Vacation but if I sent here proof of the charges she would work on it the following Monday when she returned.
Monday came and went and after a week I started emailing her to see what happened.
After several emails I decided to call and got another SRS member, Eddie.
Eddie apologized and offered to credit my bank account $150 dollars and further give me two Dish credits for $150 dollars each for an aggregate of $300 in credit, $450 in total.
Mind you the charges to my bank were $140.00 just for the $20 dollar charges and then, they overdrew my account costing me overdrafts of $30 dollars each along with my having to pay the bank to block ACH's from dish at $27 dollars.
All told the charges were high enough that Eddie felt the $450 was fair, as did I.
One week later I looked on line and my Dish account showed two $150 dollar credits and one refund of $150 dollars going to my bank account.
Today less than a week hence, I get a bill for $67.58 when I should show a credit balance of $232.42!
I called and got another SRS Team member today and she gave me a story that the $150 that is supposed to go in my bank account was one of the credits which is NOT what the statement breakdown shows and she didn't offer to investigate further.
I am going back to Direct TV who I was with for 22 years before these criminals!
Imagine, they take unauthorized mini payments of $20 dollars every two weeks and I wasn't even on auto pay! Theft, plain and simple.
For anyone considering this company for service, I'd go without before I'd come here again! Stay FAR AWAY FROM DISH!

I was checking on getting DISH TV, they needed a credit or debit card to confirm my means of payment. I gave them my debit card number so they could make a $1.00 withdrawl, which they did. But right above that I saw another withdrawal for $49.99 which appeared to be from them also, it was not.
It was from IDISHNEWORK.COM so apparently as I was giving my card number to DISHNETWORK I got hacked. I contacted my bank the next day, but it had already been paid. They closed out that card and are going to send me a new one, they said they would investigate the transaction.
I have my doubts that I will ever get my money back though. I can't understand how just talking to DISHNETWORK on the phone that I got hacked.

On 19-Sep-2018 My Dish Connection showing 301 error when I called Customer care that told Me RS 200 charge , I was Ok with this . First they doing fraud on the TV ads showing DISH TV technicians but in reality 3rd party technicians they are sending .
For the cost of 200 . 100 RS go to technicians and 100 Rs go Dish TV . Moreover its a not thing But according to India Government No company fooled the customer by showing misleading Ads .

I have made 3 complaints about same issue prior to requesting cancellation of service. My service was interrupted the beginning of last week April 2018, Yet they are still billing me for continued service. When I asked for final bill and cancellation of service, they billed me for the entire time I had no service(about 6 weeks) in addition to cancellation of contract fees. I feel since DISH TV did not provide the channels I paid for , the signal ws poor to the point of not being able to even view most channels, Gives me the right to reject being billed early termination fees.
I contacted them requesting boxes and return lables to return the 3 hopper box recievers provided. I was given differing final bill amounts, the customer support person(Randy) first said the amount due for final bill would be $430.00, then I said, NO, it should be $300 tops, considering they already turned off service a week after I refused to pay the month I was behind . I said I was not going to pay until they fixed the issue they said they won't fix the technical problems with equiptment unless they got paid first. I only owed them for one month, Snd i purposely held back pament AFTER they weren't giving me credit for missing channels and poor reception.
I said I'd pay if they restored serice to what I was actually paying for. I said I should be given credit for the service I was cheated out of. Final result was DishTv saying they are sending return mail boxes, which they charge me $15 for, in addition, said they do not know how much the final bill will be until they get the boxes back. I feel I shouldn't have to pay the full early termination fee, as it was their fault in the first place.
I would be agreeable to paying half the early termination fee which would amount to $150, plus the $15 for the return boxes, a total of $165. I feel this is fair, as it was their fault I cancelled my contract due to equiptment issues, missing channels, etc. I am waiting to get mail boxes in the next 7-10 days, and their final bill as well.

DISH TV promotes a two-year deal; but, after technician installs system, he gives you a 1 year deal to sign; neglects to tell customer that the contract will lock you in for two years with them, but the PRICE RATE IS GOOD FOR ONLY 1 YEAR..he tells the customer the deal is good for only 1 year after he has completed work, with unprofessional cable lines connections all over the place....Bill changes monthly and when u call they are well versed in why...In fact, I personally feel discriminated aginst as a female, senior citizen, and minority. Particularly, after speaking with Senior supervisor on 1/23/07.
