This couple of spouses called pete and maritza rodriguez .. they deceive you by taking your money and promising you that your furniture will arrive in a week in california since one chooses it by catalog .. time passes and your furniture never arrives and they say and tell lies , they do not answer the phone, and they change their address, hide only by selling online. Purchase and sale pages are announced in Houston. but you never know where they sell. They do not have a localized store. they have done it to a lot of people, to friends of her, the family knows about their frauds ... I'm I stole 2,800 cash from March 20, 2016 .. and it's not fair ... this has to stop ... they must pay for their robberies .. ok .. thanks
I purchased furniture from Discount Pete Home Furniture on 9/9/16. The order containied a couch, tv stand, and three sets of bedroom furniture totaling $6,199.00 I paid the full balance by personal check and the company cashed my checks and they cleared my bank account on 9/14/16. The owner claimed he ordered my furniture from a vendor and he would store it for me until I moved into my home. I was waiting on my divorce to finalize and my three kids were making the move to Houston. The owner communicated only needing 3-5 days notice once I was ready for delivery.
Once I moved into my new home I attempted to contact the furniture store to schedule a delivery. It took me 6 days to contact them. The phone number on their business card had been disconnected, the phone number on their website had been disconnected, and they failed to reply to my email. I finally contacted them through Facebook and connected with someone on 11/28/16. The company stated that I would receive my furniture no later than 12/5/16 and claimed I would receive a tracking number. They stated the furniture had to be shipped from California. I contacted the company again multiple times between 12/5 and 12/11. The only response I received stated it was still in route from California and they were tracking it. I never received a tracking number.
On 12/11 I asked about canceling my order so that I had the time to purchase from another company and have furniture for my children to sleep on. I received a very unprofessional response stating that the furniture is in route from California. They claimed I gave them short notice (again, I placed my order on 9/9/16 and it is now 12/11/16). They claimed they do not offer refunds. On 12/16 I contacted the company once again canceling my order and asking them to refund my money. By 12/19 I had not received a reply and let the company know I would be contacting the BBB to file a complaint. Following this exchange the company became extremely unprofessional, patronizing, and threatening. They stated I signed a contract that states no refunds. A following message stated that they would refund my money by mail but not until they received the shipment. However, they sent me another message stating I had to go into the store to speak with them and a refund was not an option.
Following these exchanges I asked for the California vendor contact information. I finally received the name of a company in California. I contacted this company and they stated that there had been no such order placed and delivery would never take as long as Discount Pete was claiming. When I questionned the company about the vendor information they communicated that they will no longer argue with me via social media.
It is now 12/26/16. I have yet to receive a delivery date, a refund, or answers to my questions regarding the California vendor.
