This is an unscrupulous company! Do not buy from DiMeo Farms!
Customer “service” is non-existent! We missed this cue when the person answering the phone didn't know anything about the plants or had a problem communicating with customers or simply didn’t care. We passed it off as inexperience!
Because the website looked good, we fell for their advertisement and the price; however, we were shocked by the exorbitant shipping costs. Unfortunately, we ordered anyway when we should have looked up reviews!
We have never seen so many negative reviews of any business before! The people who run this business are void of civility, respect, honesty, and most of all—customer service. The hostility is obvious and alarming! All we can say is, “Why didn’t we check reviews before we bought?”
Their business practices “Reverse Customer Service!” Customers exist to placate the business owners. We have never observed this attitude taken to this extreme.
DiMeo Farms require prepayment with a personal check. We did not hear from them for quite a while after they posted our check and phoned them to ask when our order would be shipped, a reasonable and pertinent question. The person answering the phone was rude and refused to answer questions and parroted that we would receive a “courtesy” call when they were shipping the plants. Little did we know that she did not know what the word "courtesy" meant.
They advertised, with photos, beautiful 3-year-old blueberry plants. When we received ours, they were nothing like the photos but simply twigs with balled up roots. We ordered 10 blueberry plants and received only 9. As others have noted in their complaints, the plants were stuffed into a small box and the shipping cost was not even close to what they charged. Evidently, handling charges increase when they hire people who cannot count to TEN!
We ordered 10 other plants at the same time. They called to tell us that they ran out of blackberry plants and tried to talk us into ordering raspberry plants. We did not want raspberry plants and asked for a refund. VERY reluctantly, she agreed to send a refund check while grumbling and complaining.
We called to asked them to send us another blueberry plant because we paid for 10 plants. The person, identified as the office manager, called us “liars” and said that we were looking for "drama." She was utterly obnoxious! She insisted that somehow it was our fault that they didn't have the blackberry plants and that they had already sent us a refund--insinuating that we were trying to be difficult. She insisted that the issue was resolved and refused to send the missing plant that we had paid for. She also complained that there had been “5” phone calls regarding our order, as though that were a “sin.” One of those calls originated with them because they did not have an advertised product and another was their "courtesy" call!
Accurately describing this negative phone conversation is impossible. She kept asking if we were recording the call, refused to allow us to talk with anyone else, and hung up on us. When my husband called back, she hung up, and subsequent calls went unanswered. After reading other complaints, talking with the owner could have even been worse! The attitude and tone of this person on the phone was despicable. It's difficult to comprehend that such an inept company can survive.
There is not a rating bad enough for this company!
