I purchased a newly built home in Jockey Hollow. My home along with 95% of my neighbors have had many issues going as far back as 2 years ago when the builder first took ownership. For most homeowners issues started during final walkthrough. On some occasions when we walked through our home during construction and saw some issues and reported it to the office / owner. Instead of saying that they will get it fixed all they said was "how were you able to get into the house to see the issue". The point was there were issues and we knew it was just going to get more frustrating as time went on but they already had our money so there wasn't much we could do. They put wrong stone on some homes, homes leaked, many cover-ups, HVAC not put in right, drywall issues, leaky windows, cracked basements, etc. We have gone to a few bbq's in the neighborhood and it seems everyone has the same issues. Some more then others. Most homes have 16 plus items on their 30 day list. One had 12 issues they saw during their final walkthru. When an issue arises they go back and forth with companies who are supposed to come back and fix it which can take weeks. Noone wants to take responsibilty for the mistaks and the owners son and forman just make excuses for each other.
Most homes have major issues that shouldn't have passed inspection. When you submit the 30 day list it takes weeks for them to fix the issues. One homeower waited about 2 years to have their 1 year list fixed and they just gave up. They have 1 guy to fix most of the issues unless it's an issue he can't fix then the electrician or plumber, etc. gets sent out. Most of the time Jim says someone will be out and noone shows up. They pick the cheapest contractors and nothing is done correctly. They dont' care about the homeowners all they care about is selling the home then letting it be the homeowners problem. It's all about quanity and not quality. Looking at the homes from the outside it looks nice but once inside you see all of themany issues and shoddy workmaship. I even asked to speak to the owner's father who started the business to see if he could help but was told I was not allowed. I had to go thru email address to submit a customer service request or call the office and speak to owner's son. He doesn't care either.
