Dillards has implemented a last break policy where your last break has to be taken before 6 PM. You cannot take any breaks in the break room or go outside the store after 6 PM. The policy used to state 7 PM and was changed to 6 PM. Emails were sent out to all employees and the sign was posted by the time clock. By doing this every closing shift you have to take your lunch at 5 PM or before to be back in the building by 6 PM. That means if I start work at 2 PM I take my lunch at my third hour and then from 6 to 9:30 pm I have no further breaks. If I do take a break in the building there is no where to take it because you're not allowed in the break room. Most of the time you're the only closer for your area so if you're lucky enough to find someone to cover you you have to hide and take your break In one of the fitting rooms. The company is so sales quota driven that it tops everything else in the store. Management said that this policy to provide excellent customer service, however it's more of a policy set up by them to insure we work harder at night to drive up are quota.

I HAD BOUGHT NEW CLOTHES AND HAD MY OTHER CLOTHES I BOUGHT FROM MACYS EARLIER WITH ME WHEN I PAID THE LADY WHO RANG ME UP STARTING ASKING ME WEIRD QUESTIONS!! FINALLY A MANAGER CAME OVER TO SORT STUFF OUT ON THE TRANSACTION AND I PAID AND LEFT !! AS I WALKED TO MY CAR A DUMB SECURITY GUARD A****** APPROACHES ME AND ASKS TO SPEAK WITH ME .. WE WENT BACK INSIDE AS HE SAID THERE IS A PROBLEM !! THEY ACCUSED ME OF STEALING AND I WAS SHOCKED !! IM LIKE WTF!! I JUST PAID FOR MY ITEMS AND YOU SAW RECEIPT AND SHOWED RECEIPT FOR MY MACYS ITEMS AS WELL !! THEY SAID SORRY THERE WAS A MIS -UNDERSTANDING IM LIKE F*** YA !! THIS IS HOW YOU TREAT CUSTOMERS?? I COMPLAINED AND REPORTED THEM !! AS I WALKED OUTSIDE THESE 2 SHOPPERS HAD SEEN WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND SAID THEY SHOULD NEVER TREAT PEOPLE LIKE THAT!! I SAID THANKS YOU REDEEMED ME !! BUT NOT THE STORES ACTIONS !! So FYI !! Beware of DILLARDS IF YOU GO IN THERE WITH BAGS FROM A PREVIOUS STORE!! THEY HAVE A RACKET GOING ON TO DO THIS TO PEOPLE !! WILL FILE A FORMAL COMPLAINT TO CORPORATE MONDAY !!
