This woman was claiming to be looking to hire a nanny to watch her 2 year old daughter. Was going to send money to secure me, as well as have me get things in order for her daughter, since they were not moving to the area for another 2 weeks. She messaged me through Care.com, an online site for finding child care. After talking for a bit said I was hired and then was sending out the check.
Once the check arrived she was adimant that I deposit it ASAP. Then within the hour was continuously messaging about how much was available after the deposit. Even after telling her I would NOT be doing anything until I was sure the check had cleared she ignored the message and started asking about how to set the payment up with the rest of the money from the check to go to some store manager for things she had purchased for her daughter. Already she was sounding iffy.
The funds were fully in my account by the next day ( For those of you that don't know: That does NOT mean that the check was cleared) I thankfully knew this so when she started trying to get me to do it quickly I decided to call the bank that the check originated from ( this particular bank is not near me) and it was not a valid check.
This check looked completely legit complete with water mark and disapearing circle thing. My bank looked at it and even said it was completely fine.
I started googling the 2 names found on the check Lori Dawson & William Dawson( as this check was supposedly through her husbands company) and found a bunch of fraud stories, so please be careful. These people are horrible and apparently do this often.
I am certain Diana De Angelis does not exist and is just the name being used.
