As I was browsing iphone cases at the BJs Verizon Kiosk, Erica approached me and told me about the free iphone offer. I was initially reluctant as I have been with ATT for 15 years and was due for an upgrade in 3 months, but Erica explained how I would end up paying nothing extra and would have a new phone today.
We spent a good 3 hours going over everything (I also had an ipad that needed to be switched) and I was happy with Erica’s customer service and I felt confident that she was giving me the best information.
When we discussed trading in my current iphone, Erica told me that they didn’t take phones in at their location but I could trade it in through Verizon or at an ecoATM. There was no mention that the offer would be null and void if I didn’t trade in through Verizon, there was also no sense of urgency that I return the iphone at all. She even phoned Verizon to get a price on the trade in, so I could comparison shop.
I was surprised that trading in my phone wasn't required, but she assured me that it was all fine and she was the store manager.
She told me exactly what I needed to do and expect:
1-2 months I will receive a $650 visa card
1-2 months I will receive a $100 credit for porting my number
I should submit my final bill from ATT and it will be reimbursed
I did all of these things and I traded in my phone at an ecoATM, simply because they had a higher price.
I spent a lot of time trying to fill out the reimbursement form for my final bill, with out success.
I called Erica and she explained to me that I only received that if I traded in my phone with Verizon. I was fine with that because it ended being the same dollar amount (after the final bill reimbursement) and by the time we discussed that it was 2 hours into our transaction and I could have easily misunderstood her.
After 2 months passed, I contacted Erica to see if there was a problem with the rebate. She wrote back on August 30th that she had looked into the matter and would be hearing back in a matter of days. There was no response, so I texted her on September 12. No response, so I called her a few days later. When she answered, she explained that she was on leave but the issue was being looked in to. I asked if I should speak to Verizon myself and she agreed.
I called Verizon and spoke to a representative and he explained to me the offer is only valid if you trade in your phone and the error was on diamond wireless. He gave me his email in the case that I needed verification of this.
I have texted Erica and left a voicemail but haven’t heard back. It would make no sense whatsoever for me to buy a new phone, pay miscellaneous fees to change carriers and receive no rebate. The entire ordeal has cost me over $900. Yes, I have a new phone, but I could have stayed with ATT and got a new one for a steal.
I have wasted hours emailing and sending documents to Diamond Wirelss/A Wireless, nothing yet. Erica is no longer with the company and I am left holding a very expensive phone.
Deryck Downey from Diamond Wireless in Mooresville NC BJs store totally screwed me out of $1600.
I was suppose to get a rebate for a free phone and he did not give me the rebate forms or take care of it like he said he would do. He also failed to mention that I would be put in collection for $800 when I closed my account a week after opening it because I tranferred it to my sons name. I got screwed badly by this company so what out for them.
About a year or so ago, I bought a Samsung Galaxy 4 phone from this company. I NEVER leave without insurance! I told the lady to put insurance on my account. Since she was the expert, I left FEELING LIKE I had insurance. For several months I went through with my phone feeling confident, until one day it stopped working. I hope into the Diamond Wireless store to get my replacement phone. The guy tells me I don't have insurance? I must go down to this USED phone shop and get a replacement since my contract wasn't up yet. It would cost me a lot more to get a phone through him, but they have this tablet promotion for only a penny he'll set me up... I was thoroughly frustrated and confused at that time so I agreed... I went to the used phone store, bought a junk phone for $150. Went back to the store. Told the guy to make sure I had insurance on BOTH devices. OK, he says I do. Walked out of the store, couple days later I called Verizon to make sure I did. To my surprise only the tablet had insurance. I'm now looking into small claims court to get my $150 back
When purchasing my iPhone 6 at the store I was sold on Diamond Wireless being told verbally by the salesperson that they are a great company because they don't give you refurbished phones, but new ones. So I signed up. Fast forward a year and my phone took a nose dive off of my bathroom counter and shattered. I made a claim, paid the deductable, and got a refurbished phone, NOT a new one. After a bit of time whit spots appeared on the screen. I took it to an Apple Store but the phone was no longer under warranty and after they confirmed that there was no water damage (there wasn't) they told me that the screen issues were due to it being poorly refurbished. I called Diamond Wireless to request a replacement, but because the 90 day grace period had passed, I would have had to file a new claim and pay the deductable once again. Really not good. So when you inevitably get a crappy refurbished phone from them, cross your fingers it craps out in the first 90 days.
Sadly to say, my husband and I have had nothing but problems with this company from the beginning, and we are still having problems! The trouble began a few years ago when we renewed our contract with Verizon through this company, as they are an authorized Verizon dealer. We signed up for a new phone plan, and were given a hot-spot wi-fi thing for "free". The salesman failed to tell us that "free" was actually an additional $25 per month on our bill. We discovered this and promptly returned the item. Problem solved, right? Wrong . Next, I noticed new charges on our credit card began showing up from Diamond Wireless, a whopping $90 a month! I called the company directly and inquired with the charge was for, and was told it was phone insurance, which we told the sales rep from the beginning we did not want or need! I was then told I needed to call customer service (based in Utah) to get the insurance canceled and the money refunded. It took me almost a week to get a hold of anyone. I left voicemails and never received any calls in return. Finally, I was able to speak with a friendly and helpful representative who said they would cancel the insurance and refund the money. Instead, we were charged for two more months ,still $90 a month, and I finally called our credit card company and asked them to block the charges, as they were unauthorized. Our credit card company blocked the charges AND somehow managed to get me in touch directly with a manager from Diamond Wireless customer service, who was very understanding and helpful. He promptly canceled our unwanted insurance and we were finally refunded the money we had been unlawfully charged for the three months. Now we are with a different phone company altogether, and have been for well over a year. We thought our problems were over with Diamond Wireless, but unfortunately I discovered our bank account is currently in the negative over $200 plus an overdraft fee! I called our bank directly and was told the charge was from Verizon. I then called Verizon customer service and was told we have a zero balance and owe no money. We have not received any collection notices in the mail and are no longer Verizon customers. Even the customer service agent was confused, so she gave me a number to report fraud. I then realized that Diamond Wireless could very well still have our personal checking account number after all this time, and since they are authorized Verizon Wireless dealers, they have the ability to hide behind them to charge our account unlawfully. So in the morning, I will have to go to my bank and probably open a new account so as to avoid any more hassle from this company ! Dealing with the aftermath of this company's belligerent thievery has been incredibly frustrating and stressful, and I refuse to allow them to steal from my family and get away with it! Please avoid this company altogether, and save yourself the nightmare that I am still going through over a year later! They are thieves and liars, and I will not be silent in calling them out for their blatant dishonesty!

I purchased an I phone 5s gold 32g, that was sold as new, overstock, display or demo, factory unlocked.
The phone which has been going into a blue screen and restarting since I got it, is now stuck in restart.
I have taken the phone into my carrier who tried 5 differant ways to revive the phone. The wind up was they
lent us a phone pending our solution. The thing is they say what happened to this phone only happens to
phones that are what they call Jail Broken to unlock carrier, this would not be done to a new phone and a
new apple I phone comes with at Least a 90 day warranty. I asked this vendor and got told there was
NOTHING they will do. In closing They said in the first line of there ad on E BAY Satisfaction Guaranteed.
They also stated the phone was a display or excess inventory. I guess I should have known better, but I
trusted there rating and sales volume as a postive thing. 189,000 transactions I thought I was safe, but
not so. I am sure what they are selling are USED or remanufactuered phones NOT NEW. Trade in's probly
that they are using E BAY to sell. ATTN; Class action Lawyer wanted.
