Dewar Robert T DDS PC Reviews
I specifically called this dentist to find out if they took my insurance and they affirmed they did, so I scheduled an appointment to get an exam. I was told it would be a free exam. They found some dental issues with the X-rays and I agreed to be seen again. On the second visit I asked if the procedure would be covered and they told me they tried 2 times to contact my insurance and didn’t know what would be covered so they offered me a 50% discount to get the work done. I was under the impression my insurance would cover up to 80% or more. I stopped the procedure and asked the billing lady to find out before I got charged more than expected. She took her time and made a couple calls of which could have been made before my appointment. She contacted my insurance and they told her I had a waiting period before I was covered, so I left because I can’t afford a lot and would simply wait until my coverage kicked in... Low and behold they send me a bill for services and then go to tell me my insurance covered a portion of it, so I’m left with a balance. My question is how can my insurance cover it before I’m covered? They bait and switch people into thinking they have coverage then send a bill later after the fact which allows them to bill me whatever they feel like billing me. Don’t ever go to this dentist! When he was about to begin a procedure he actually was handling a dirty writing pen with his gloves on like it was no big deal and was about to put his fingers in my mouth, and that’s when I asked about the billing for the procedure. The staff looked as though I caught them and acted very apprehensive towards me after I questioned them. I’m glad I stopped the procedure because it was actually the dirtiest dentist office I’ve ever stepped foot into. Now the billing lady wants to send me to collections because I won’t pay her magical bill that was produced from a free exam. Scammers! The billing lady said she remembers everything that happens and she told me she’s never wrong when it comes to billing. That’s laughable at best. Nobody is perfect.
