I was way overcharged for a simple website. I found a different website that charged me a fraction of what they charge with a bunch of more features. They figure out ways to make money off of you, so don't think your expenses stop when you first sign up.
They have a communication thread, which comes off as very professional, but it's the phone calls where they convince you to pay for "needed" add-ons.
They will call you and tell you that it will cost x amount for an add-on and tell you that it's necessary for your website. You will talk to several different people. They will charge you to add a free feature. They charged me $1,000 for a chat integration that I later found out was free. If it doesn't get sketchier than that, they will quote you a price then discount it soon after, especially if you don't want the add-on.
I currently don't have a website because on my last call they told me I had to pay them $2k to update a legal setting. After I said no multiple times, they magically went down on the price to $500 because I am a "loyal customer." Where have I heard that before? It's not worth your money and time. Trust me. I spent over 4k and have a basic website, which is disabled at the moment. Why? Not because they called or emailed me to make me aware. It's because I typed in my website and there was nothing there. I called them and they told me it's disabled and that I had to pay in the amount of the scenario I mentioned above.
I spent a lot more time than money. They may rebuttal this, but the evidence of my experience is documented.
I've been dealing with these guys since March. They promised a working website within a two week period and I still don't have one.
I have a shell of a website which has a virus that I suspect they put on it when I asked for my money back. The website was blocked by google, Mcafee, Microsoft and other programs within 48 hours of being live. Nothing on it worked and I'm out over $2k with no way to get my money back. They pass me on from one person to another and no one fixes my site so its functional and not flagged. They use alias american names, so there's really no way to track who these guys are. They are a fraud.
Here's what pops up as soon as I try to log on my website:

On the contrary, our side of the story is a bit different
On the contrary, our side of the story is a bit different. At first, we offered the services at minimal rates and did our work according to the instructions. We made changes several times as you wanted because we believe in satisfying the customers to the fullest. Still, you raised some concerns and asked for a refund, which we did as per our policy that customers are always right. But what is not right here is the misguiding to the other clients about our services. We have a long list of customers who know that our professionals are competent, and their work is amazing. We, as Design Dok, condemn such an act from you.
Where do I start? This company is not a legitimate business. Buyer Beware. They claim to be based in US, but they are most likely based in Indonesia, or a similar location. They are dishonest in the extreme. The all have American sounding names, which means they are all using aliases. Do not pay upfront, because it would be very easy for them to abscond without delivering what you pay for. They provide US company addresses in California and New Jersey, but they are not listed in these states. Again, buyer beware.
My inexistent knoledge of website designing and dream of building something to myself, made me not only take out a $10000 loan, but also use some of that money to give to this company, that has done nothing but scamming and direspect what it should had been a single transaction.
I recognized that it was naive of me to think that people who wants your money upfront will actually deliver the product, specially for an online product.
now, with no business, a loan that i will have to find a way to pay and no website i am reporting this because i don't want anyone having to go through this issue.
