A very slick ad deploying a standard telemarketer scam centered upon the inducement of a... For a limited time. Get your free sample. Just pay shipping and handling. And, we’ll rush your sample to your address. All of which ultimately morphed into several charges to our account for a grand total of $198.44. Some “Free Sample!”

What irks us both is the fact that nowhere in print was there caveat(s) advising the purchaser of the actual motive and cost associated through your initial involvement. You know… A buyer responsibility clause of some kind. Instead, this Derma Genetix and its varied and sundry permutations sought to take advantage by taking funds without consent supported by a slew of chicanery too often associated with telemarketing. What chicanery you ask? Prolonged wait times for a customer service agent. Multiple phone numbers associated with the firm. A poorly trained, but amply scripted employee who seems concerned [and, might very well be] who rambles off the terms and conditions that, of course, we objected to because no such information was provided from the very beginning and even a hint of consent would land us in further debt owed. Then a response to our concern which was a [purported discussion with the supervisor] followed by another prolonged hold time, which resulted in a halfhearted apology for the delay and a lame offer of a 35% discount on the order. Our response? No, thank you.

Calls to our bank set a Loss Prevention investigation in motion, but, we have zero faith in that process given that the bank may pursue our claim and agree we had been defrauded, but… The bank does not refund you your money. The company has to do that based upon your request. So, folks… Let us suggest a more appropriate response. One, never use your debit card. That was our initial and significantly embarrassing mistake. Two, know that account closure, or card canceling does not constitute a legal reason to not receive your full refund. For instance, you might be told that because you cancelled your card, that the company is unable to credit your account. Wrong. Straight up strong arm tactic. So, don’t cave. Instead, insist upon a full refund using your bank account info. Third, write a letter [or, file a claim] to the Attorney General of your home State and to the State of Florida. The consumer protection arm of these offices will gladly go after telemarketer fraud on your behalf. Maintain complete records. Follow up as needed and don’t let up for an instance. This is a criminal act of fraud intended to unlawfully acquire your money without your consent. Be reminded that fraud carries no statute of limitation.

Finally, we want to also share that falling for an endorsement by a “celebrity”… In this case, Joanna Gaines of TV’s ‘Fixer Upper’ has been just plain foolish. These endorsements are cash cows for the endorsee. Do you believe for a moment that Ms. Gaines has a vested interest in how youthful your skin will be if you use her endorsed product? Instead, she’s laughing all the way to the bank while wring our hands in frustration for having fallen prey to another Fountain of Youth scam. Ladies… Aging is inevitable. Genetics reign supreme. Live well and whole. Someone no doubt thinks you are absolutely gorgeous even at sunrise!

Message : I fell for a facebook ad for derma genetix. I saw the ad on 5/27/17 and declined the free sample initially, The shipping was 12.95. Then I started recieving texts from them lowering the shipping. They were presenting it as the launch of thw shark tank miracle product with a video with amazing results, I figured I'd try it for five dollars. Then they threw in the eye serum as a bonus and charged me three dollars to ship that I didn't expect that, but who am I to complain? My card was billed on 5/30/17. Fast forward to today when I found two charges on my bank statement for roughly 94.00 a piece. When I tried to dispute this with the company I was informed that the conditions I agreed to were that I would pay full price for my free samples?!! I never agreed to such a thing. I went back to their site and at the bottom there is a link to their terms and conditions, and the best they could offer was a 50% refund. I told them that it was unacceptable. I filed with the bbb in Fl and see they have operated under a number of names, and continue to develop new ads each day. They steal people's facebook identities for their testimonials, In hind sight I feel so silly, but their whole practice is so deceptive and there are plenty of companies that offer legit free samples, so I was caught off guard. Please stop them from continuing this nonsense. Who has $200.00 to pay for a free sample?

It starts with a fraudulent story about how Joanna Gaines from Fixer Upper is starting a new skin care line which you can try for $4.99 shipping.

When subsequently paying for the item, there are additional charges buried in the fine print which amount to $190 after you add them up.

Joanna Gaines denies any affiliation here:people.com/home/is-joanna-gaines-leaving-fixer-upper-facial-cream-skincare/

File reports with your state Attorneys General.

Like many others, i fell for the "free sample" they were offering when an ad popped up while i was on amazon. I gave the company my credit card to pay for shipping the samples then was horrified when i found two unauthorized charges for $94.77 and $93.80 on my visa bill. I called the company and was told they do not give free samples and i had signed up for monthly product deliveries. I insisted i had done no such thing and finally the rude staffer switched me to a supervisor. She also just argued with me until i hung up in disgust. A few minutes later, she called back but i did not answer. She left a voice mail telling me that she was about to offer me a refund when i hung up. Not long after that, a "customer service manager" called to apologize for the problem and assured me that he would close my "account" and refund the money to my visa card. He said he would follow up with an emai confirming all this. When i had received no email the next day, i called again using the number this manager had given me. They insisted the email had been sent and later i found it in my spam mail. Two days later, i checked my visa account and the charges had been removed. You just have to be tough with these people. Do not give in to them. Threaten to contact better business burea -- there are already several complains registered there and the company has been given a rating of f.

Ordered product for 9.92$ then company charged my bank 94.77$

  • Aug 17, 2017

The company that makes Derma Genetix has wrongly taked over $94 out of my checking account. I never gave them permission or had been notified at any time this would take place.

When I contacted the number that was on my checking account, they would answer with a recording saying they were busy and to leave my name and number for them to call back. It has been 5 days and still no call back. I contacted their number on the website today and the man anwering said he was with a answer service. He took my name and number and said to except a callback.

I am exaperated at this. Please help me.

Derma Genetix is a completely unscrupulous company! I had asked for a free trial of the product after seeing it on a TV commercial in May. All I authorized was a charge of $4.95 on my credit card for shipping the free trial. Instead, I found two charges for shipping that time, the second one in the amount of $4.97. Anyway, since the amount of the additional shipping charge wasn't too high, I let it go!

When I received the product the first time, I found that not only did it not perform as claimed but, in fact, was causing some allergy and burning to my skin. Being a former cancer survivor, I have earlier undergone chemo therapy that has left my skin very sensitive, so I am normally very careful with skin care products and decided not to use the product further as it was not suitable for me at all. I thought the matter ended there!

I was subsequently extremely surprised to find another package delivered to my door in a few weeks and two charges to my credit card in the amounts of $94.77 and $93.80! I had NOT asked for any subscription to the product, nor had anything to that effect been communicated to me during the the initial transaction for the free trial of the product. So I called the only number that was there on the paper slip in the package and found a recording that kept me on hold for a customer service person. I waited for about 8-10 mins and then pressed 2 to leave a message as requested. I left a message expressing my surprise and saying that I had NOT ordered any product from them and that I was returning the package. Then I sent the package back to the address that was on the box and also called my credit card company to dispute the charge.

Now it is August and I am still trying to get this company to stop sending me the product that I have NOT subscribed to, do not use and to stop charging my card that they had allegedly put on file for the initial shipping charge for the free trial sample! They have now charged $94.77 + $93.80+$99.72 + $98.77+$38.87- the first two charges on May 28 and 29th, the next two charges on June 28th and 29th and the last charge on August 4th, making it a grand total of $425.93 for products that I have not used, nor asked for and in spite of several requests to STOP sending me their product!

Of course, I am disputing the charge with my Credit card company but it is so stressful having to deal with all this unnecessary hassle! This has caused so much waste of my time and energy and given me an exhorbitant amount of totally uncalled for stress!

Such unscrupulous companies take advantage of unsuspecting and trusting consumers. I hope that they are brought to book soon! Please DO NOT ever order their so called "Free Trial" or you will find yourself stuck with a subscription to a product you will find is costing you around $200/month and is exteremely difficult to stop! Also, when they are this dishonest, can we really trust any of their claims?!! BEWARE of Derma Genetix!

Derma Genetix AGAYA FACE CREAM I ordered a free sample of the face cream and paid the shipping and handling charges of $4.97. They sent the face cream but also sent a sample of Eye serum and charge me $2.99 and an additional shipping and handling of $4.95. I went ahead and kept the eye serum since it did not cost much. Now less than 3 weeks later I am seeing charges to my bank account from this same company as well as other charges showing AGAYA face cream which I assume is associated with this company. These are unauthorized charges which I am disputing. I did not agree to purchase more product after purchasing the trial product. This company is a rip off. I thought they were legit because of the media coverage given through Shark Tank.

Shark Tank is associated with this company and is used in the advertisement of their product. They are sending their so called free samples out and adding product to it for additional charges whether you order the additional product or not. After less than 3 weeks they come back into your bank account assessing charges for products not ordered and not authorized. They are a rip off as well as Shark Tank.

  • Aug 9, 2017

I ordered a "Free" 14 day trial of the Eye Serum and the Face Cream. It was delivered 7 days later and I was billed the full amount of a 30-day supply on day 7 of usage. I was then told by a very rude Customer Service Rep named Nadine that IF I had read my Terms and Conditions then I would know that by not calling to cancel by Day 14 (which would be Day 7 of usage), then I "agreed" to pay the full 30-day supply cost. 7 days is no where close of enough time to evaluate a skin care routine. I get that it's all "in the fine print", but this is SCAM at its finest. And I might not even be so upset, or consider writing this review, if the Customer Service training were more considerate. Clearly they get these calls all day long if dissatisfied customers, or else she would have jumped into her "you should have known" condescending attitude so quickly. Never buy from Derma Genetix!

  • Aug 8, 2017

If I would have known I had 14 days to return the product I would of returned it before. It is truly a scam,

first you are told that you pay shipping and handling. Oh but it keeps adding more shipping. At first it was

supossed to be $4.95 than they charge you another added shipping! I am very upset that I was charged

$97 to my credit card. If this isn't a scam I don't know what is!!!! I will never buy anything like

this any more. I have purchased other items on the internet from other companies and have been very

satisfied with my merchandise.

  • Aug 2, 2017

Ran across an ad online about a product that would help with wrinkles and age spots. They offered a free trial of the product and you had to do was pay the shipping. I sware I searched all the screens I needed to complete before submitting the info to get my "free trial" and did not see anything about having to contact them within a certain time frame. I have been caught before on this time of deal, so I make sure I am careful looking for this. Well, low and behold, two weeks later, they took out $73. 75 and $34.00 for the two "free samples". I called and compalined nicely that I wanted the transaction reversed and they told me they can't do that. However, "as a courtesy, they would refund half to the $73". Guess that's better than nothing, but I can't afford all that money for a product that doesn't even do what they say it will. Isn't that false advertising? Can't they get in trouble for that?

  • Aug 1, 2017

Saw their face cream product on the internet via their website and youtube. They offered a trial sample for $8 and so I purchased it online. During checkout they gave options for addtional products but didn't give the user an option to decline. However, I subsequently got billed for an additional product so my total increased to $12. That was not the end of this order! 2 weeks later I got billed, on my card, an amount for $94.77 from DAB*DABUFACECREAM. I called the company and they explained that was for the cream I ordered through Derma Gentix. The initial $12 was shipping and that I was supposed to send the cream back within 14 days or get billed for it. I requested that they refund my charge, but they offered a 25% discount on my order instead. I refused this option and called my credit card company and got the charge reversed. Do use this company!!

  • Jul 28, 2017

I unknowingly like others signed up for what I assumed was a product to try and pay only shipping. I was later informed that I had also agreed to pay full price if I did not contact them and cancel within fourteen days. Then they also continued the next month to send product and charge me before I recived the product. The charges on the bank statment give no indication of who the company is? I was told they are filed by the name of who bills me? It took several phone calls to understand the company name and what the product was that I was not paying 98 and 97 dollars for.

I never would have ordered the sample offered as pay shipping only if I knew they would charge me full price and then schedule me to get recurring orders.

Now if I want to return I have to call them back and then deal with their rudeness agian and hope they give me some number to ship it back and they claim they will refund me but charge 25 dollar restocking fee.

these companies have ruined it for everyone. I will now never order try me products again

  • Jul 27, 2017

I am usually very cynical and think of everything as being some form of scam or another, but lo and behold, I was duped. I read an article about Joanna Gaines leaving the show Fixer Upper to engage in this great new skin care business that she had been investing in, and when I checked out the skin care line, it turned out to be Derma Genetix. I saw that there was a limited offer to receive a free trial of the product for just paying the shipping charge of $4.95. I ordered one trial of two separate products in early July and once I received the product, I never heard from the company again. I did later discover that Joanna Gaines has no affiliation with the company and does not have a skin care line at all.

On July 18, a charge for $94.77 hit my credit card account, and another charge for $93.80 hit on July 19. Since neither charge had indicated “Derma Genetix” I had immediately disputed them with my credit card company. I later realized that they were for Derma Genetix, and when I called their customer service to dispute the transaction and request a refund, they told me that there were Terms & Conditions that indicated that the trial would only last for 14 days. After those 14 days, if you do not contact the company and return the product (for an additional charge), then you are charged the list price for the products. The $94.77 and $93.80 were supposedly the list price for the “trial” products that I had received. They refused to issue a refund/return, and told me that “the best they could do” was to offer me a 50% discount, which is supposed to be refunded to my credit card.

When I placed the trial order, I do not recall ever seeing the Terms & Conditions that they mentioned. Looking at their website now, I see that there is a check box with Terms & Conditions that must be checked before proceeding. I am assuming that it is newly placed, as I would have read through it when I placed my trial order and would have opted not to order at all due the added cost to return the product, or significantly added cost to keep it.

  • Jul 27, 2017

Late one night, I decided to check-out Dr. Ox's website because of a product I heard described in passing. When Derma-Genetix came-up I mistakenly assumed the products were linked to or endorsed by Dr. Oz. I am now sure that they were not.

I placed a trial order for one product, and then offered an opportunity to also try a second product - so, I requested that one as well. NO place in the trial offer was it obviously or clearly specified that the "Trial" product was not actually a product to try - and that I would later be billed full-price for the product if I was not satisfied.

I returned home last night from a trip to the East Coast where my husband and I visited my nearly 90 year old father (who has seriopusd health concerns); and where my husband and I began the process of settling his now-deceased uncle's estate - including the cremation and distribution of his remains. I casually looked through my mail and noticed that I had been billed by Derma-Genetix (though my bill does not state that name specifically) for the full cash value of the products that I had ordered.

I called Derma-Genetix today and was eventually connected to a "service provider" named Carrie. The "service" was anything but polite of helpful. She did, however, direct me to a very convoluted "Terms and Conditions" notice that is visible in very small print after and order is placed IF youy scroll down to the bottom of the page. The "Terms and Conditions" do specify that you must contact Derma-Genetix within 14 days of placing your order if you are unsatisfied or you will be charged the exhobitant rate of approximatley $94+ dollars per bottle of product received in the Trail promotion. THIS information is not readily available when placing an order; and it is not included in the package of product received.

I believe that Derma-Genetix "Trial" offer is a Rip Off. The terms and conditions are extremely misleading. The company does not make clear their intention to bill you full price for the "trail" product sent and/or that they will continue to send products (at a ridiculously high cost) until you contact them...and get one of their surly agents to cancel your membership.

In that I was out of town for a while attending to family matters, I did not get the low-down on this company's rip-off terms and conditions. I have contacted my credit card company and am contesting this charge. I strongly advise any and every one to avoid doing any business with this compamny unless you are truly impressed with their product and you have the resources to afford them. (As a special education teacher, I cannot afford silly creams that will cost nearly $200 a month.) My products are unused, unopened, and I have offered to send them back - But Derma-Genetix will not accept them. Rip )ff to be sure!

  • Jul 26, 2017

My bank account was charged for product not ordered, and no disclosure of charges after a "free trial" very shady. I had to cancle my card, call the company multiple times only to be told what a busy day...here are some fun facts...gosh we are busy. Leave a call back number and when did get the call was told of the charges after not cancelling after 14 days. Well if I saw that I never would have ordered. Now I am out a bunch of money I cant afford to lose. My bad for taking the bait.

  • Jul 24, 2017

I applied for the free trial of their eye and skin cream on 7/9/2017 received the box on 7/17 or around that date and today was charged over 180 for both before I even used it for 14 days. They don't give you a return address and they are rude customer service. Do your research before ordering any free trials please

  • Jul 22, 2017

I have also experienced the same complaints that have been posted. When I ordered the trial products from Derma Genetix, there was no mention of a charge other than the shipping. There was no deadline given me to return the creams if I was not satisfied. I was also charged nearly $200.00. The two products came in the same box, yet each charge to my checking account had a different telephone number. After a long wait, I finally got someone to answer the phone. He was very vague in his answers and I had to keep rephrasing my questions. I called my bank and they are stopping the payment of the amounts Derma Genetix withdrew since it is a scam and they ordered me a new debit card. If I send it back the guy said they would charge a $25.00 inspection fee. I asked it they were going to give the returned items to someone else. He said they wouldn't, but they still had to inspect it. I'm feeling foolish for ordering.

  • Jul 20, 2017

Attempts to cancel order the first week I received were unsuccessful. I called customer service and got a rude foreign man who wanted my credit card information. Which I felt was not a good thing and he hung up on me.

I also emailed to an address I found for the company but received no response.

I did not want additional orders at $94.00 until I had tried the cream, but one came to my home yesterday, july 18th.

I have tried to call customer service 5 times since then. Left messages for return calls and my issue, but have not received an call backs.

Three times I was put on hold for a long period then disconnected.

I don't believe they really have customer service, they just have bait and stick with product and costly additional shipments.

Stay away from this company.

  • Jul 20, 2017

I signed up for the free trial after about a week of getting the skin care my bank was charged 2 different times on the same day. One for $93.80 and the other $94.77.

  • Jul 20, 2017

This company Derma Genetix is a rip off. I purchases a trial offer for 2.95. I recieved order but they withdrew another 2.99 out of my account. I called no. and a lady said they would refund 2.99. Nothing happened. on 7/19/17 they withdrew 94.77 from my account without authorization. When I called, the message said office was closed. This has happened every time I called. I went to bank and blocked and more withdrawals. This is illegal and it would be great to get money returned.

  • Jul 17, 2017

I ordered the sample for $24.00, was charged $34.00, now a reoccurring charge to my account for $99.65! Did not agree to any thing more than the sample. Major rip off and slick con artist. Contacting the company on Monday. Very upset and dissatisfied .

  • Jul 17, 2017

My wife went to subscribe to get a trial sample for 4.99. When she submitted the credit card information she agreed to the terms hidden inside the terms was a 14-day call back to cancel. If you do not call back you automatically subscribe to a monthly subscription from each cream based on 1 trial product turns into 2eyecream/facecream at $94.77 -7/11-/17- 1st charge 7/12/17 -2nd charge93.80 (manually keyed in)that's $ 188.57 a month=$2262.84 per year!!! We called back to cancel subscription and they are still going to take a partial of the payment and on top of that she really never got the sample because she has to return it now in order to get some of the money refunded. FYI they manually keyed in the second charge should be against the law. The only reason that we caught it as soon as it hit it's because I have everything set up on alerts. And the credit card company wasn't much help because of the terms and agreement.

So I can only imagine all the people are taking advantage of that don't look at their credit card statements except once a month and by then you're probably already receiving the second charge for a monthly charge and if it's automatically paid you probably don't even look so beware of these people that want to take advantage of people that actually get up and go to work!

  • Jul 15, 2017

I simply do not want an automatic re-order. I want to make my own decision about reordering after I have used the product and determined if it is as good as advertised.

  • Jul 14, 2017

There is no such thing as a "free-trial" here! Don't get sucked in by all the claims. They charge you, whether or not you keep the product, and whether or not you call to cancel. They are charging me a fee to return the product. It's 12.75 + the cost to ship it back.

They told me the free trial is not a free sample. They send you a 30-day supply, but you have to cancel within the first 14 days. I was told the other 2 weeks are not free? I have to send back the unused portion, be charged for it, plus the shipping!

I read the terms and conditions before I ordered this, and it said nothing about sending back the product, the fee, etc.

Just don't order from them!

  • Jul 14, 2017

Just another gimmick to rip people off. I ordered a "trial offer" of Derma Genetix without the knowledge of an ongoing automatic shipment. Of, course, no answer when I called their business number. I could kick myself for being such a sucker.

Derma Genetix is a big rip off. They ship the product and want you to ship it back to them or pay for what was sent. The consumer pays for return of product. I watched their video ( which shows up on several skin care / wrinkle creams ) They are all using the Shark Tank commerical to promote their product . I told them the product didn't work as their commercial said it would. I told her I clicked on an ad on facebook she said they don't use face book and they don't use the Shark Tank commercial. I know that is where I came across their product. She also said I agreed to the terms and conditions however I never saw the terms and conditions page to read just the I agree to. If I would have saw terms terms and conditions I would have read them before I agreed. There was none to read.I was also charged 2.99 for some other reason. I canceled and paid for the product that was sent. I would not trust this company . I know I don't. My question is why are there so many different company's using Shark Tank's Commercial ? Derma Genetix is a rip off.

I should have known better -- I ordered a 'free' trial for $4.95 shipping, looking for any mention of a subscription or other 'gotcha.' I didn't even see the link to the Terms & Conditions, a link on the bottom of the page, not even a check-box, in which they state that by ordering the trial you are signing up for a subscription. I wasted $95 on a product that isn't even any good. Totally deceptive practices. They should be shut down.

I thought you would like to know that Derma Genetic Skin Products, Derma Genetix Age Defying Cream has unfavorable return policies to their customer trial.

When I phoned customer services to cancel the trial within the 14 day trial period I was told that I was required to pay 50% of the retail price of $94.00. Furthermore, the customer service agent informed me that I must return the unused portion of the cream to Derma Genetix in St Petersburg, FL.

Ironically, the first customer service agent I spoke with was not able to find my order. This was due to the fact that customer order # on the packing list is different than the customer order # on the order confirmation that was sent to my email address.

After elevating this matter through three customer service agents I finally spoke with an Operations Mgr. who disputed that these terms were disclosed when I ordered the trial. She stated three times that the cancellation terms were disclosed. After I disputed this three times and repeatedly pointed out that the cancellation terms were deceptive and not included in the order confirmation, she agreed to cancel the account. The attitudes and manipulative business practices combined with the disrespectful words used are reasons that I will not do business with Derma Genetix. Also, be advised that I find that these agents have a combative attitude that the customer is wrong and was responsible for the misunderstanding.

After the call, I found the ordering terms on their website. It stated that "Trials are subject to billing fo the balance purchase prices of the product and the specified trial period(i.e., 10 days + 4 days shipping). To prevent this billing, you must contact customer support within the time frame of your trial period. You will not be required to return your trial bottle(s)."

Be cautious when ordering their trial...be sure to carefully read the terms and realize that the trial is a win-loose offer.

Ordered a trial offer and paid shipping only for a total of $9.92, for skin cream and eye serum. Had a charge on my credit card for $94.77 for the cream and $93.80 for the eye serum. I called to see why I had these charges, and the representative ststed that if I didn't call in 24 days from the time I ordered to cancel, then I would be charged. I explained to her that I didn't even have it for 14 days, plus there wasn't anything written stating those terms. I had read every word before I ordered! She claimed that there was and would not reimburse me. So evidently I was charged almost $200.00 for trial offer. I called my bank to try to have this charge reversed, and I have not heard from them yet.

Ordered their product under a "trial" premise. Advertised as only pay the shipping. Seemed easy enough. Ordered the product, it came in a timely manner. Nowhere in the ordering info did it say this was an auto renewing thing. However, when checked my credit card statement, 14 days after the initial order they charged my credit card $190 without notifying me! And I didn't receive a second batch (not that I'd want it anyway!). I will be filing a dispute with my CC company. I would recommend not ordering from this company.

There was an ad on Facebook for a 14 day sample, showing individual use pellets for age defying face cream. The offer was for $.95 which was to pay the shipping fee. I read the entire ad to see if there was a statement that tied me to a future required shippment of purchase. When I received th cream it was not individual pellets as shown but a jar of cream and for more than 14 days. I call on the day that I received the package and a recording asked me to leave my name and phone number for a call back. After several days I called again and held for 28 minutes to talk to a customer service person who informed me that the 14days was the time frame that I have to cancel future shippments but that I would be charged $22.43 to cancel the transaction. I was then told that if it had been past the 14 day time period I would be charged an amount in excess of $70. The customer service representative was very nasty in her conversation and stated that I had agreed to this at the time o the purchase but there was no opt in or out anywhere on the sscreen that I was shown. They already have your credit card number from the $4.95 shipping charge so they place the additional charge on your account.

This company took $94.77 from my bank account I called in a timely fashion to cancel and was told everything was fine. I told them I would not accept their return offer of $37.90. Then I was offered $61.60 55% backThey did not return anything I was on the phone for 40 ms.

I want my full refund I did not like their product and called to cancel in time.

This company uses celebrity Joanna Gaines of the fixer upper show as a spokesperson representing the skin care product to lure you in. I now find out that is absolutely untrue. Then they have a bait and switch and also have incredibly deceptive billing practices. I thought I was signing up for a free 7 day sample if I was willing to pay the shipping. I mistakenly did not read the "terms and conditions" and today found out that they have a big bait and switch in there which says you are actually signing up for a trial and they will bill you the full cost of the sample if you don't call and cancel within 14 days. Hence I am left with a "free" sample that costs over $180 and they say there is nothing I can do about it (other than accept their "gracious" 35% courtesy credit). I take responsibility for checking the terms and conditions box without reading all of the fine print but I trusted in the name of Joanna Gaines not to change the terms and conditions in the middle.

I saw an offer for a product from Derma Genetix that looked too good to pass up. It was a free trial offer and all you had to pay for was the shipping charges. I decided to try their Derma Genetix Age Defying Skin Cream and pay the $4.95 for shipping.... before finalizing the purchase they offered another product, Derma Genetix Age Defying Eye Serum for an additional amount giving me a grand total for shipping at $9.92. I thought this was doable and I would try them and see how they work.

I ordered my 2 Free Trail items on May 25, 2017, which was 1 day before the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend. I received my order on May 31, 2017. Knowing I had 14 days to try the product I waited until June 12th to call and cancel any further order. Much to my surprise a few weeks later I noticed two charges on my Bank Statement from Derma Genetix, 1-$93.80 and 1-$94.77, these went through on June 12th, the same day I canceled my order.

I called them and asked why I received a additional charge after canceling the Free Trial products with-in the 14 days trial period. He informed me the trial period begins on the day of the order, so in my case I ordered on May 25th I had until June 8th, and as I said earlier my products reach me on May 31... giving me only 8 days to try the products. Oh, yeah he also told me I received the regular size products not the trail size product.... And that's why they charged the full amount.

I sent for the "free" samples of Derma Genetric eye serum and face cream not reading (my mistake) that I would be charged full price for the product and receive further cream and eye serum (which I never received). I paid with a debit card attached to my checking account for the "free trial" offer ($9.92 total). Then on the 14th day of receipt of the products I was charged $94.77 and in two more days I was charged $93.80! I live on a fixed income and I have significant (to me) overdraft charges on my checking account.

  • Jun 24, 2017

erma Genetix company products on the internet , skn cream and eye cream contains only 15 ml volume each per bottle are priced too excessive . The company never sent me information of the prices and just transacted on my credit card during the trial period. Too excessive pricing for this small bottles as compared with other brands.

I saw an ad by Derma Genetix, which was pushed to my Facebook account, claiming a "free trial" of a breakthrough skin care product, and you only pay $4.95 for shipping. I ordered it, and when I went to check out, saw that another product, an eye cream, was added to my cart also with a shipping charge of $4.95, without an option to remove it. So my credit card was charged $9.90. Over the next few days I found out that other consumers who had responded to this Derma Genetix ad got placed on an auto-ship program, where their credit cards get recurrent monthly charges for new shipments of the skin cream. To ensure this won't happen to me, I called the company to verify. A representative told me that in order for them to "resolve" my case, I would have to either send back my "trial" products and pay $25 plus something (even though it was supposed to be a "free trial"), or keep the products and pay an additional $88 or so. The rep said that I had agreed to the terms of the sale, under terms and conditions. Nowhere on their website did it mention the fact that by ordering the trial product, you would be placed on auto-ship. For them to put that in the terms and conditions (very small print), is very shady. Who would read that? A legitimate company would not resort to such tactics. I never received a confirmation email of my order, only a shipping notification a few days later. To me this whole deal is a scam that targets unsuspecting consumers who are eager to try the advertised product and then get tricked into spending much more money than they would be willing to, and having very little recourse to correct their mistake in falling for it. I would just like to be able to return the products unused and get a full refund, with no further charges to my credit card. If the company is not able to do that, they confirm my belief that they are scammers!

This is a total ripp off disguised as a trial skin care product. A website came up when I was searching for sckin care products. The add said "Trial" just pay $4.95. So I entered my info then another page came up asking do you want the eye cream for an additional $3.95. There is no mention that this is a subscription and you must cancel within 10 days or you will be charged the full amount of $97.50 for each product. When the charges $97.50 showed up on my credit card I called and then was explained all this info about being a subcription. The charge does not show up on your credit card until afte the 10 day cancellation period. So by the time I called, it was automatically too late to cancel, returnthe product, and get a partial refund.

After begging and pleading and crying they agreed to take the product back but are charging me $12.95 to test the product when they receive it. All this should be disclosed in big writing. I am still waiting for my refund.

The product sizes are soo small they are only worth the $4.95 and $3.95 including the cost of the shipping.

I saw ad for derma genetix creams on Facebook. Ad said, free trial. Not true. I checked terms and conditions and nowhere did it state I would owe +$90 if I kept products. Learned this when I called to see if this was really a free deal. Individual stated I would pay or return items for $25. I could also receive a discount if I chose. I told her to cancel my account and to let me speak to supervisor. No one ever came to phone. I called back 3 times and no one picked up.

  • Jun 20, 2017

I thought I would try the Trial (Sample for $4.95) I ordered and lo and behold I received 2 items after I only ordered 1 item, so I got billed for 2.. So I started using the product and broke out in hives =. I called and talked to Tasha, she told me I hadto return at my own expense and they will charge me $12.75 each item for them to dispose of this, after i already paid $10.00 for 2 samples. I called again and this time the lady was so rude and she said not matter what you say, if you do not want it, and return it, you will get charged $197.00 for new product. This is terrible to take advantage of people like this!

I was on a website and saw the advertising for a free trial & clicked on it. Stated that this was Joanna Gaines new venture, I love her so decided to go for it. Website said only $2.95 for shipping, but I was charged $4.95. Right after submitting the order I immediately received a text say to follow a link set to complete the order(?) I replied to the text asking if it was a scam. After doing some digging in the internet I found that this was an autoship program, not what I wanted to do at all. After I received the product I called to cancel, but was told I would need to send the product back and would be charged a $12 inspection fee. I requested to speak with a supervisor and was transferred. He advised he would waive the charge, but I still would need to return the product, he said "it's not free" I have been given an RMA number to return at my expense and he assured me I would receive a confirmation email of our conversation, which I have not received . I will update after my return is complete , this is it free and the advertising is very misleading... lesson learned.

  • Jun 16, 2017

Derma Genetix Age Defying Skin Cream is a scam. I ordered a free trial to try the product out. I only had the product for 7 days, but apparently they 14 days begins the day they ship the product, not the day you receive the product. They proceeded to charge my card 97.00. Sadly for them, I was never able to try the product out. I had to return unopened and I was then told that they would not give me a full credit of $100.00. They charge $12.00 for an inspection fee! I've never heard of that. Plus I have to pay for the return. This was a total scam. I would urge people not to try this produt out.

Their website advertising which was pushed to my phone stated "Free Trial". It only mentioned shipping and handling totaling $9.92 for both trial items. I called company to cancel order right after I placed order but was on hold for two hours. When someone finally answer my call two days later; I was told I could not cancel order, that I had to wait for order to arrive in order to either cancel Autoship of the product for $90 + dollars or return it for a $25 charge. The customer service person that took my call had attitude when answering my questions. The page I used to place order did not provide any disclosure about their scam. 1) I should be able to cancel this entire order since I have not receive it and they cannot even tell me the exact day I will be receiving it. (even if I loose the shipping and handling fee I paid originally 1) Or if I do receive the items, I should be able to return the "free trial" items unopened for no additional charge . Again, Since they do not even know the exact day tbe items will be arriving, they should be able to cancel the "free Trial order" and intersect the delivery so they can get it sent back to their warehouse.

I have had the same experience and I'm sorry to say I would never have thought of returning a trial offer so I didn't even keep any of the enclosed paperwork. This is very misleading and I have none of the paperwork to stop any automatic shipments if they are on their way. It is very misleading!

I saw an ad on Facebook for a free trial of skin care, just paid for shipping. My email confirmation showed I purchased 2 products and I was charged for shipping fees of $4.95 each. I emailed them that I only wanted the skin cream not the eye product. No reply. Charged shipping for both and they were packaged together. Less than 2 weeks after I received product I was charged $94.00 for something. Auto-ship. No email. No communication about the charge. I am on disability and now I won't be able to fill my prescription for my seizure medicine.

  • Jun 7, 2017

Their website advertised “Derma Genetix Age Defying Skin Cream free trail just pay shipping”. We ordered the trial for 1 fluid ounce jar and were charged $4.95 for shipping. 2 weeks later we were charged an additional $94.77 with the comment that if you don’t return the trial within 2 weeks you get charged for a 30 day supply. This was not clearly stated on the webpage for a “free trail” - additionally to the charges that occur when wanting to return the item. Furthermore we were unknowingly placed on auto ship and had to cancel.

The company is misleading and misadvertising their product. This is not a free trial and we are not the first ones to experience this ripoff.

I saw an ad for this company on my newsfeed, using Gwen Stefani as a draw. I read it and never realized it was just an ad. I bought some samples for @ $4.95 each. I received them right away - nothing impressive about them. Today I logged onto my checking account and saw 2 charges for @ $95 each from this company. I called the company and waiting on hold forever before talking to a person. When I complained she said that I had signed up for a 14 trial and that the $9.95 I paid was for shipping and I was now being charged for the products! I was livid and complained and she immediately offered my 40% off. It was obvious that this was their ploy. So, now I feel like an idiiot and paid $123 for two products that are, in my opinion, worthless!! DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM!!!
