Never received my notice. They said they sent it in October for my 2015 new car purchase that was to be renewing Jan 12, 2016. Ok....for sure within the 60-90 day window. I never saw it in October. So, it must be the mail man. Don't really know.
What I do know is that I received a renewal delinquency notice yesterday saying i owed 617.00 (231.00 of that is penalty). Wow, that is 60 days past due notice. How can it be that I missed all of the notifications? Is the mailman taking my stuff or delivering the mail incorrectly. I don't know. What I do know is that I am not receiving the DMV's notices.
I called them. They sent me to the local office. AFter waitin 1 1/2hours, I finally spoke with a clerk. They denied me. No help. They directed me to file an application for refund. Not real hopeful. What I do hope we all get out of my post is this- Stop supporting our government agencies. They are not doing a very good job. They like to penalize or tax and I firmly believe that this is the way that they plan on supporting their agencies in the future. I had never missed a registration payment before in my life. In fact, did not have to go to the dreaded DMV for much of anything. What a disaster this place is. Vote no on everything and just be more active in your community. I will be retiring outside of California. Its just not worth the hassle with these state agencies that are there to help us.
