Delta Air Lines, Inc. Reviews

Delta Airlines suspended my Husband on Feb 6, 2023 accusing him of breaching social media policy. He was on unpaid suspension during this time. Corporate security was supposedly “investigating” during his suspension but it turns out, no serious investigation took place, otherwise my Husband would still be employed. Delta has a termination protocol but this was never afforded my Husband. My Husband was under the impression during his employment that the termination protocol was for every employee, yet he was never afforded this. Something stinks at Delta. They have former FBI as corporate security at Delta. Keep this in mind. How did Delta know what my ANONYMOUS social media account was and who it belonged to? How was me and my Husband linked? Told you something stinks at Delta. The FBI has been weaponized against us all, reaching into places they have no business in. Nowhere in any of my social media posts was Delta nor my Husband ever mentioned, so again, how was any of this possible unless someone had so e reach they hav no business with? My Husband never had, even to this day, access to my social media account, but Delta feels if they say it happened, then it happened. These corporate security goons told my Husband they are convinced of his guilt rather than the proof pointing to his guilt. Delta Airlines is a demonic company who will say whatever they can to make what they say right rather than how things really are. Me and my Husband feel they were already after him for something, anything and used this supposed breach of social media policy to do it with, despite the fact he wasnt/isnt guilty of that either. Husband is a White 60 year old with 27 years with the company with not much longer before retirement. Whatever their reason, you can bet much nefariousness is behind this whole witch hunt. Delta is NOT the company they want people to believe they are. They are heartless and frankly, liars, who portray themselves to be honest and right but is anything but. The most sociopathic, disgusting people (IE the airline insdustry) are at it once more!

I had to cancel my flight to Boston from NYC due to the coronavirus outbreak. I fell ill with COVID 19 and my meeting in Boston was obviously cancelled. When I went to the online cancellation page, I was told that the cancellation fee would be waived and that I could apply that money towards another flight in the future. I still thought this was inappropriate because, given the difficult financial situation of most people during this outbreak, they should just give you your money back. But of course not! So I settled to at least get the credit.

So the so called ecredit they gave me is minimal because they STILL charged me 200 dollars to cancel my flight without even being specific about how much they would charge you before you clicked on cancel. This is a SCAM! I always expect the worse from airlines in general, especially Delta. But to take advantage of the this dire public health situation to fill their pockets (on top of beng bailed out by the government with OUR taxes no less) it is despicable, absolutely disgusting.

On the 16th of November, 2017, I took a flight from Delta Airlines from PDX to ATL. At PDX I checked in one large suitcase at the check-in services leaving me with two carry-on bags. Before boarding flight #2565, the Delta employee asked me if I wanted to check one of my remaining two carry-on bags. I did check in one of my bags with her which left me with one carry-on bag, a black Adidas gym bag with nearly every important/expensive item of mine within it. It carried most of my electronics, and a lockbox containing my birth certificate and social security card along with some other small items (foreign money, two rings, etc.). The total worth of everything within that bag was around $4,000. You might be wondering why I had $4,000 worth of items with me at the time. I was leaving a hostile environment in Oregon and I had to take whatever possessions I could carry with me to move my life across the country. My move was last minute as my living situation in Oregon fell apart on the 14th of November. I had a ticket with Delta already established for mid-January, but I changed my ticket date for the 16th of November when I no longer felt safe at my residence. Packing was a rush job because I had two jobs.

By the time I had time to pack, I only had a few hours. I remember the expensive and important items, and what bags I placed them in, but the smaller, less significant items are harder to remember. I am not a seasoned flyer. I chose Delta because I thought that such a well-known company would never allow a customer's personal property and identity to be stolen. I boarded the aircraft and followed the line of passengers to the back where I was to be seated. The air-hostess took a look at my bag in disapproval. She told me that my bag was too big and that I might have to check it. I really wanted to keep this bag with me but I assumed that I either check my bag at her request or I don't fly. I sat down and waited as everyone on board found their seats. None of the Delta air-hosts communicated with me, but I figured that I'd better grab my wallet just in case I needed to pay for checking in yet another bag or possibly identifying myself later.

Eventually, before takeoff, one of the airline hosts/hostesses grabbed my bag without saying anything. I think it was the only male host that I saw on that flight, a person I wouldn't see again. I assumed they checked in my bag, and I was fine with that because I felt comfortable knowing my possessions were being cared for by Delta Airlines even though the contents were expensive. Any doubts and fears I experienced I waved off as me being irrationally afraid. Besides, my mind was preoccupied with the fact that I was leaving my state for a new life. I was calm and aware, but I was also filled with emotions. I was saying goodbye to family and my home, parting under unpleasant circumstances. The last thing I thought I've be dealing with is Delta Airlines losing my identity and property. We arrived at the Atlanta Airport (ATL), but this was my layover airport. My other flight was already boarding, so I rushed to my next flight. While I was in line, I heard an overhead message calling some Delta passenger (no name or seat number given) traveling from PDX to ATL to come back and take his/her carryon. I didn't think it was possible that it was me they were calling back because the hostess checked my bag, so she said.

When I arrived at my final destination, I checked the Delta app on my phone which confirmed that I had only two of my three bags waiting for pickup. I immediately went to the Delta Baggage office and I started a claim there. The woman who helped me was the first to explain that if my bag was taken from an airline host/ess, my bag had to stay in the property of Delta. Later I would receive two other confirmations that my bag had to be in the care of Delta at all times if my bag was taken by the Delta host/ess rather than checked in; one by an ATL employee working in the Lost and Found, and one by a Delta Customer Service Representative. After a month of phone calls and emails, I decided to call someone from Delta one last time before giving up to see if they had found my bag. Thankfully, I received help from a Delta employee who seemed to have the necessary alacrity to help me locate my things. She found a report in her system for an Adidas bag at the Delta Warehouse in Georgia vaguely matching my own in-depth description of the contents within the bag.

While I had remembered most of the important, expensive items, the report that was written from a Delta warehouse employee listed things that were minuscule and easily forgettable. Instead of listing an HP Computer, Canon Camera, iPod Touch, Pop Funko Toys from popular culture, Ralph Lauren eyeglasses, etc, they listed an Oregon 3 oz mug from Starbucks, medicine that was listed by its name (Bisacodyl), and running shoes. I can't recall everything that they listed on the report, but when I asked about my lockbox, the representative told me that she didn't see that listed. She assured me that the people who make the report generally don't list everything in order to save time. I wasn't worried at the time. I received an email from the claims manager of Delta apologizing for "mishandling" my bag, and she offered a Delta voucher. That was the 18th of December. I received my bag on the 19th of December. I received most of my items except for my lockbox and my HP slim laptop. If there was anything else missing, I couldn't be sure because I was in a rush packing. The keys that open the lockbox were moved from one of the small pockets to the large pocket. I have contacted Delta eight times since then in some form or another (email, facebook, corporate) but I have received no helpful response if a response at all.

I took photos of everything the bag contained upon arrived on the 19th of December except the black t-shirts I used as a cushion between the hard objects. I checked my Microsoft account to see if I could locate my laptop, but no luck. If my bag was in the care of Delta the entire time, then I can only imagine that Delta was either negligent with my bag that allowed some random person to steal some of my possessions, or a Delta employee had taken my things. Either way, Delta is responsible and I need help getting resolution. Additionally, an investigation into the journey my gym bag took within the care of Delta is needed. If a Delta employee took my identity, that needs to be taken seriously. Delta holds a lot of responsibility caring for the possessions and personal information belonging to their passengers. A lot of money is paid to this company for a safe trip. As far as proving that my items were in the bag, PDX should have some kind of surveillance at the airport. I had to remove all large technology before my bag could pass through the detector, and my laptop was one of them. I think my laptop was also listed in the report. I have saved every email and message to and from Delta employees.

Two weeks ago I booked a Comfort Class roundtrip from MPLS to RDU on Delta and had multiple issues, or should I say surprises.

The first is that I thought I was book Delta, but it turned out to be Delta Connection, operated by Endeavor Air, a commuter airline.

When booking the flight I paid an upgrade to their Comfort Class. On their website it states that Comfort Class offers: an “upgraded experience that includes more things to love”. Nothing could be further from the truth as there was no benefit for the upgrade. If fact, it may have actually cost me. Consider that Comfort Class is supposed to offer:

Seating, with Priority Boarding - up to 4” of extra legroom may be true, but this is what cost me dearly. You see, by boarding first, the end result was that when the other passengers boarded, with my seating assignment, I was repeatedly hit on the back of the head with suitcases, carry-ons, infants, purses, computers and anything else that could be carried on a plane. The extra legroom is hogwash as they use commuter planes which packs you in like a sardine.

Dedicated Overhead Space – totally incorrect. There was barely enough to fit my winter coat in the space. Had a carryon been involved, it would not have fit.

Access to Sky Priority® boarding. True. The penalty for boarding early was addressed above. Add to that, on the return, the plane was late. This had passengers trying seat themselves and clamor for bin space.

Additional amenities include:, complimentary beer, wine, and spirits on flight 250 miles or more and complimentary premium snacks on flights 900 miles or more. This is totally incorrect. I got a cookie and a half glass of soda. Nothing else was offered or mentioned. This amenity statement is just plain wrong.

Little Extras - like a pillow, blanket, complimentary headset, also included as a benefit that is totally incorrect. We were never offered, nor did we know this was available. I did however, look for a blanket and was unable to locate one. No could a cabin attendant find one.

Movies, TV & More – another non-issue, as I found that this is available only on cross country. However, I would have expected it on a two-hour flight.

Service – no internet and bathroom out of order.

Seating – beyond cramped, yet extra cost for their Comfort Class.

Bottom line is instead of a Delta flight, I was put on an old Endeavor Commuter that needed upgrading so bad, it was dirty, uncomfortable and lacking any amenities.

I have written them, but with amount of complaints on the internet, they probably could care less. Totally unacceptable to me, but business as usual for them.

Delta Airlines has denied my the right to gift to the Red Cross a $150 travel voucher! I have waited on hold and finally spoke to customer service twice with no luck. Their policy is to only gift miles.......the kind you will never use...except maybe for magazines. The RedCross is in dire need of funds.....but unfortunately Deltas greed to not give up the $150 is sad. This is not a good policy Delta!

We purchased airline tickets in April with a departure time of approximately 1240pm from LAX to ATL. After we arrived in the airport (months after purchasing them) we were told our flight had changed from 1240pm to 11am. The woman at the desk, Annette, confirmed that Delta had NOT informed us (even though they had months to do so) that the flight had changed in anyway even though they did have our contact information. I asked for a supervisor and Sergio R came to the desk. He stated that there were no seats on the next flight in order to at least try and make our connection. When I asked him to confirm he said "I'm not going to lie. We do have first class seats available, but I'm not giving those to you". Now, I don't care what seats I get... if Delta screwed up and didn't notify me of the times changing I want a seat that I paid for at the time I paid for. Nothing more... nothing less. Sergio R eventually found seats and told us to proceed to the gate and he would call up there to confirm them. When we got to the gate, I told him that Sergio got us on the flight and the woman laughed at us and said "oh no, you're on standby. There are a number of people ahead of you on this flight". So basically Sergio flat out lied to us to get us on our way and no longer his problem. I don't understand how customer service can perform in this manner and not expect repercussions. Not only this, but when we did eventually get on a flight, our seats were already assigned to someone else and they had to sort it out on the fly. Not to mention a "mix up" with the catering truck and having food being severely limited on this flight. When trying to contact Delta about this after the flight, I continuously get sent to a different phone number and eventually got their "Corporate Customer Care" department which basically tells me to go to a website. When I do get a live person after using automated options OTHER than they suggest, I am told they will get a supervisor. However they forward me to the same "go F yourself" recording that eventually hangs up on you. I have not seen this level of unprofessional behavior from a business in a long time... in fact I'm not sure I have EVER seen it to this degree.

Delta has been my choice of airline carriers. I appreciate the low fares and crew expertise. Today I had an experience on the last leg of my flight that I would describe as horrendous. I landed in Detroit on flight 1226 to Tampa. The connecting flight was due to depart at 3:11. My arriving flight landed at gate 64 around 2:35. I had to rush like a maniac to gate 47 without time enough to have a cigarette or grab something to eat on the plane. I was forced to check my bag by the staff validating the boarding passes. When I got inside, there were at least 10 overhead storage compartments that had room for a bag. I let the stewardess know they had lied about running out of room. Supposedly, it came from the cabin that there was no more room for the bags.

I was seated in 37E. There was an empty seat in between me and a man. He stated to another passenger, his seat was on the aisle in front of the last emergency exit. He told the passenger he could sit there. When we landed and all the passengers in front had gotten up to leave, he just sat in his seat. I asked him if he was going to get up because I wanted to get out. He started ranting and raving curse words loudly at me from the time I stood up all the way to the front of the plane until I got off. One stewardess at the very front interjected and asked me if I knew him. I replied I did not and added a few descriptives of what I thought he was! Maybe FATBOY will go out to the Delta FB site and read my posting. I forgot to wish him a Merry Christmas and hope he chokes on a turkey bone! I'd also like to wish Delta a Merry Christmas and hope it is as pleasant as my flight that SUCKED!!!!

I used FF miles to purchase 3 tickets from SAT to IND on July 29. Act of God made me cancel the trip. Delta demanded $150 per ticket to re-deposit the miles into my account, $450 total! Outrageous for purely electronic transactions and another example of airlines gouging us with abusive fees. Their response to my compain: TOUGH, had to read the fine print. Well tough back! It is time for new regulations.
