DEFENDERS DBA PROTECT YOUR HOME AWFUL company, EXTREMELY DECEPTIVE, predatory like employees (sales reps/technician). This company (Defenders) lied about or failed to give true facts, over-phone the price was $29 month , with FREE indoor/outdoor CAMERAS, but after the SALES TECH placed the unit on my-wall this was changed to $58.99 month & was told that no cameras besides a doorbell camera was available in my area.

The technician Terry B, then gave me a $4000 estimate of various equipment, but strangely no cameras included. When I ASKED TERRY B to LEAVE/Remove the wall unit, he called his supervisor Steve & Steve convinced me that in 3 days I could get $400 in gift Cards. I had to PAY $6.95 in money orders for 4 $100 gift Cards, WHEN I realized I was taken FULL ADVANTAGE OF the 3 DAYS had passed and I COULD NOT CANCEL THIS CONTRACT.

NOW I AM EXPECTED to pay to get out of this contract, even the CORPORATE EMPLOYEES ARE RUDE, offered me a 10% discount (to pay % of my remaining contract balance versus %) BUYERS BE AWARE OF THIS COMPANY, ADT CORPORATE ALSO WILL NOT BE HELPING YOU.

I SPOKE WITH CRYSTAL JONES OF ADT CORPORATE & WAS OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE, ALTHOUGH SHE WAS NOT RUDE LIKE DEFENDERS. TOTAL WASTE, GENERIC ALARM SYSTEM FOR $58.99.... United States

Defenders is a major scamster and I have been duped by them into using their service and paying them thousands of dollar to cancel service which is not active. Later I tried to reserach if I was an anomoly and lo and behold there are 1600+ law suits from consumers for similar incidents. Do youself a favor and do not use ADT or Defenders!

I purchased a 4 camera, Defender security system in 2017. Within a month, the DVR was not recording images from one of the cameras. I called Defender and the technician seemed to get it operational again; however, some of the images were now fuzzy. Shortly thereafter, I had a breakin at my home (within the first 2-3 months of purchasing this system) and the DVR FAILED COMPLETELY - SO NO IMAGES TO GIVE THE POLICE.

I called Defender again, and they sent me another DVR. When it arrived, IT WAS NOT OPERATIONAL, and it took 8 days to get to me - Defender refused to use an expedited method of shipping even though I had told them about the recent breakin/robbery.

Called Defender again - the technicians could not get the DVR to work. When the technician checked their records, I was NOT sent a new DVR, they sent me a USED DVR from their office. This DVR's memory was completely full and the technician could not erase it. So no one at Defender checked to see if the DVR was operational prior to shipping it to me.

Moreover, when I purchased the system, I also purchased insurance. Since the problems occurred within the first 3 months of purchase, I should have been sent an entirely new unit, not one that was used and completely defunct.

STAY AWAY FROM DEFENDER SYSTEMS. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEIR SYSTEMS TO ANYONE. VERY, VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND VERY INFERIOR PRODUCTS.

1. The monthly charge in each month turns out to be 54.76 instead of 27.99.

2. When the work is done, the contractor didn't give me the signed contract. I asked the company for the contracts which I signed for many times, but they didn't send me any.

3. The first time I called the company to purchase the service, the salesman promised he can have my monthly charge as 27.99. But after the security system work is dine, the monthly bill changed to 53.74.

I called many times to resolve the issue, they give me many reasons each time: 1. many sensor is more than the normal. 2. I don't have a phone line. Those reasons they didn't even inform me when I purchased their service.

4. When I called to cancel the service and change my monthly charge, the representative tried to intimidate me that I have a 24 monthes contract and if my cancel my service I need to pay 24 monthes bill.

5. The "Defender Security Company" is not the same company as ADT. I got many calles from both ADT and "Defender Security Company". But When I tried to dispute my issue, both party kick the ball and ask me to call the other company.

I answered an advertisement stating, "exclusive limited time offer:Now only $29.99/mo. for an ADT-Monitored Home Security System. The offer was as follows: free activation, sensors and gift card. (act now to get this reduced rate and bonuses a $850.00 value.) The ad also mentioned free home security system installation only $99.00, 15 free pre-wired door or window sensors ($1000.00) ($645.00); wireless keychain remote with panic button $129.00) (never received)(false advertising) The expiration date: 12/20/17: Keisha ID#13998 stated that I refused the card. First, I heard of it. 10/5/17.

1/21/18 @ 1:50 pm: I added up the total and it came to 1,624.00. It is not free.

I was about ready to change telephone conpany's and was asked not to. They said that they would use the existing one.

Was told that I needed a down payment of One Hundred and One dollars and ninety-five cents ($101.95) for the work done today. My son went down cellar and told me that it looked like nothing was done. I asked them to hold the check until the first. When I checked my bank statement and noticed that One Thousand Seven Hundred Ninety-Four dollars and Fifty-Eight ($1794.58) was taken out. (I was told that it was for the equ ipment which was to be paid in three monthly installments) Defenders, Ic. took the whole thing out at once whic caused several accounts to bounce. This is my pension and social security widow's benefit checks for the month. I went to the bank and stopped it.

9/28/17: I contacted the office at 1-800-300-4207. I was told that I signed the wrong contract. I was also told that a service representative would call me to redo my paperwork. (never happened) (shoddy paperwork) While he was doing the paperwork, I warned him that I had two other home security systems and one of which I reported to the Better Business Bureau. If he messed up ADT will be reported, too. (I have sent a report to the BBB in Indianaoplis, IN.) At the same time, he stated that I had 90 days to cancel this account. My son was present at the time.

12/20/17: Spoke to Keisha ID 13998 and she said I did not have a landline (I have lived in this house for thirty years and I do have a landline) I asked why my monthly bill was $68.89 when the advertisement stated $27.99, which was a $40.00 difference. When I told her to cancel my contract, she said that I needed 75% for a cancellation fee of $1,000, Would not put me on a budget. Needed a debit/credit card only what was the onkly way they would take payment. I also mentioned I has not received the agreement. (I have received it.)

Keisha had placed me on hold (30 minutes). When she came back on line I kept hearing Keisha saying, "Mrs. B' are you there? 3x's. I kept replying, 'yes'. The I heard a recording saying, "the person is no longer on the line. This call is ended". I immediately called right back, and she stated that she called me back a couple of times and no one answered.

i CONTACTED ADT FOR MOMS HOUSE SO SHE CAN HAVE SECURITY SYSTEM.THEY SEND DEFENDER WHICH IS A CONTRACTOR OF ADT AND THE GUY WHO WAS THERE WAS RUDY CABALLERO.MY MOTHER ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT WHICH THEY TOLD HER IT $349 DOLLARS AND SHE WAS FINE ,AND THE GUY TOLD HER WE CHARGE THE CREDIT CARD AND WE WILL SEND YOU A RECIEPT BY MAIL.IN REALITY THEY CHARGED $532 DOLLARS AND THAT IS WHEN THE WHOLE SCAM STARTED. WHEN WE CALLED THEY TOLD HER THE SALES GUY MADE A MISTAKE AND WE TOLD THEM THIS NO MISTAKE THIS IS A SCAM AND THEFT YOU DID.WE FOUGHT I AM WAITING FOR $187 DOLLARS OVERCHARGED.

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! Stay as far away from this company as possible. I normally do not do this and I would love to spend my time doing something more productive than to write about how horrible this company is, but I will take the time and express what happened to me by DEFENDERS so that I may help someone in making a better decision and that is to avoid DEFENDERS. I’m in the military and I travel often so I wanted the peace of mind of knowing that my family will be protected in some way while I was gone. I scheduled to have someone come and install the ADT security system in my home which I never once would question the competence of the individual performing the install because I ‘assumed’ they would know how to do their job. Well, he didn’t.

Prior to confirming proper signal this individual made a gaping hole in my wall to install the security panel. Unfortunately for him, he made the hole without testing for the signal in my brand new home. No big deal, just move the security panel where it would best have signal, except now I have a gaping hole in my wall. By the way, this installation took him and his partner over 8 hours to perform which they didn’t even finish, so they had to send someone else out at a later date. This next guy was smart enough to find the signal and eventually install the security panel. Great now my security system is installed except I still have the gaping hole, 5 x 6 inches in size just staring at me. The last individual who came and installed the security system gives a call back to me and says that he spoke to his manager and that he will call me directly about having a different company to fix the wall, and I said wonderful I will wait for such a call because he said it will only take about a week.

That phone call never came and I waited an additional week giving them the benefit of the doubt, but still no phone call so I took it upon myself to call this individual who told me that someone would be calling me. I called, left voicemails, text messages and this guy I knew was purposely dodging my calls because he picked up and then hung up and when I tried calling again he sent me straight to voicemail. So as one would expect, I got upset and I let him know how I felt via text. I called the company for answers about damages done to my home. I took 4 days of continuous phone calls to finally reach this person that is supposed to help me.

Emily ID# 15998, she tells me that I have to pay someone to come out and appraise the damages for my wall even though I did not cause the damages to my home it was my responsibility to initiate that process and that at a later date I would be refunded the money, do you know how inconvenient that is for someone, to have something done to them and they are expecting you to fix the issue on your own dime. I think it’s great they are willing to pay you for the damages on the back end but for you to front load that entire BS because of their mistake is unacceptable. Well, I explained to her that I’m not in the position to be paying for such services and asked her why should I pay for damages that were done to my property when it was one of her fellow incompetent employees that caused that damage to begin with. I was furious and not happy with the circumstances.

Had I known it was going to be such terrible service from the start I would have simply found other means to protect my loved ones. So for those of you who are thinking about purchasing any services from this company, just for your information you are responsible for any initial damage done to your property if any is done. I would not have taken the time to write all this if it weren’t true. If possible I will include a picture to show the damages done.
