Dean Garcia called us out to troubleshoot his pool heater which wouldn't come on at all. We took the gas tubing and orfices apart and determined the gas jets were clogged from spider webs. Dean told the technician the heater used to "explode" and make a "really loud noise" when it would work. So the technician also adjusted the oxygen and gas levels in addition to cleaning out the orifices. When the technician was finished he turned the heater on in front of Dean who stated it has "never lit that quietly" We charged him ONLY $85 service call.
Days later Dean calls stating the pool will heat only to 89 degrees. We told him we would be happy to come back out and it is a separate issue and would be a separate charge since it would not light and was NOT WORKING AT ALL on the initial call. We explained that we fixed the "not working at all" and now there is an unrelated issue. Dean then sends this email" Hello I tried the spa again.
It heats. But does not heat to 100. Even though the display days 100 degrees. Please advise Problem not fixed. Dean Garcia "
Clearly we fixed at least two items, #1 "doesn't come on at all" and #2 "would explode" when lighting. We reiterated we are happy to come back out, it is an unrelated issue and he would have to pay for the new problem which is likely a sensor, thermal bypass, high limit, spring valve assembly or something else. Dean refused and became rude and demanding. We are not an insurance company Dean, fixing two problems doesn't make us beholden to repair the next 20 for the original $85! Dean then has the audacity to malign our company on Yelp, why because we wont work for free??? One star review" I have been emailing Steve regarding a service call about 2 weeks regarding my heater not heating to max temperature. technician came out and said I had clogged pipes from spider webs. He cleaned out and that was it. He didn't even stick around to check if spa would heat. I trusted him. Paid $85 service call. About 5 days later my son wanted to go in spa. It would not heat again , same issue as before. I called and emailed. Steve said its a different issue and I would have to pay another $85. This guys don't care. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE." "He didn't even stick around to check if spa would heat." Is that because the heater would not come on AT ALL when you called and would EXPLODE and the heater CAME on and DID NOT explode when we finished. Your service request was not for "the spa not getting hot enough", it was for the heater not coming on at all, period. Problem fixed. Exploding problem fixed too!
For $85 you want us to bring our swim trunks heat up your spa and "wait around"? Especially when customer doesn't mention ANYTHING about the last time the heater did work it only getting to 89 degrees.. Dean writes "same issue as before". No demanding liar!! The "issue before" was WOULD NOT LIGHT AT ALL AND WOULD EXPLODE! Sorry Dean, we owe you nothing, your Yelp review like your expectations is a joke! If anything we should have charged you for the additional adjustments we made and generally receive $179 for heater service instead of the $85 we charged you.
