DCH Honda of Oxnard has lost all sense of serving their customer. Instead they pray on them. If you go there for service you will have to wait four hours to get your problem diagnosed and then pay them a $125 fee for just looking at your car.
I have been a customer of DCH for three years. I like the free cookies and the free car wash. I have spent thousands of dollars there.
For the past several months DCH Honda has been charging a $125 inspection fee to just look at your car. I was told that this “inspection fee” will be applied against any repair work they do. That is NOT TRUE as I found out this week. That $125 inspection fee only applies to fix the SPECIFIC problem that the customer brought to their attention. The fee cannot be applied against any other work DCH does. And you have to pay the fee to get your car keys back.
In my case I asked them to examine a slow water leak in my car. I waited in their lobby from 8:30 to 12:30 – four hours – before I was told the problem was a head gasket and repairs would be $1,735.46 plus tax. I am retired and that would take much of my income. DCH also performed a “free multi-point inspection” which found that I also needed some $1,218 in other work. I asked them if they could apply the $125.00 fee against this other work. They WOULD NOT let me use this inspection fee against anything except the head gasket. I went to the acting manager Masud and the Service Manager Kevin and they both told me I could not apply the fee against anything except the head gasket.
I had to pay them $125 to get my car. And they did not even wash it.
