In mid December of 2014, I ordered a Starter Set- Easy Kit (Uilleann Pipe Penny-Chanter with Bag and Bellows) from David Daye Irish Uilleann Pipe Penny-Chanters, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. I submitted my order form with a check (#242) for $424.00. The check was cashed by David Daye and cleared on 12/15/14.
I contacted David Daye via email on several occasions (February, March, June of 2015) to inquire about my order. I received no response from him. His website stated that orders would be shipped out in March. I contacted David Daye by phone, I believe in March of 2015. He stated that since my order was an “Easy Kit” (meaning I would assemble the components) he could expedite my order. I still had not received my order. However, his website still claims that delayed orders are being shipped.
On July 30, 2015, I contacted David Daye by phone, and he informed me that my order would now take at least another year to fulfill. He did offer a solution where he would ship to me in a “couple of weeks” 1 black chanter with reed, and a refund of $237.00. I would subsequently purchase the bag and bellows elsewhere. I agreed to this resolution.
I have emailed David Daye on several occasions since July and also sent him letters requesting a full refund of $424.00. As of 9/13/15 I have not received any response from Mr. Daye and have not received either the chanter or a refund. His website is still up and running, making claims that orders are being shipped, accepting new orders and not fulfilling past orders that have been paid for.
