Circa 2010 I purchased a home that required a new air conditioning system. I called, Day and Night Air Conditioning, for an estimate for a 5 ton unit. They quoted me a price and I accepted. They installed the units and billed me for a 5 ton unit. The unit came with a 10 year warranty if they properly registered it. They failed to register the unit, therefore I only received a 5 year warranty. I called them in 2014 because it needed a new condenser. They sent a rep to my home 3 times to "inspect" the unit. They refused to honor the warranty because they never registered my a/c. They never honored any warrantied work. They tried to say there is a leak (needs new condenser) and their famous sales pitch is to perform a "dye test" ($700) and the "pressure test" ($600). They tried their best to drain me of money when the condenser was obviously not functioning properly and leaking. Presently, due to the hurricane, I need a new unit because my old unit was demolished. After, receiving more estimates all the a/c salesmen seen these units are 4 ton units as opposed to the 5 ton which I was originally charged. Thankfully, I still have the original receipts. Now, I am finding out they screwed up the air ducts and did not properly soder joints. Run from this fraudulant business. New a/c units cost these companies $2,000-$3,000 each. In my research, I have found 100% of a/c companies upcharge 300%. Make sure they pull a permit because the inspector will see if they did install the correct a/c unit.
