David Wethy (and Sherry Wethy) are unscrupulous people in Fort Worth that make their living from cheating people in manifold ways. Please be very careful around them and research other scams they've committed and the 10+ lawsuits they've been involved in as either the defendants or plaintiffs. Unfortunately we did not do this before doing work for them.
David hired our companies to do the plumbing and electrical work on a home he was remodeling in Fort Worth. A couple months before starting the work he asked us to create an estimate for both trades. The electrcial involved installing 14 can lights, replacing his panel, and installing smoke detectors. On the day we started our work and entered the house he had removed all the sheetrock and the scope of the work was much much larger than what had been estimated on the electrical side. Our estimate was for 4700 dollars and the house was a total remodel with new dedicated circuits, 50% more can light installs, relocation of outlets/switches/etc.
We told David immediately the cost of the additional work and he verbally agreed. He was always very kind and pleasant so we had no reason to suspect he was a thief.
After completing our electrical inspection with the city of fort worth we pursued payment from David and he started to act oddly and had creative ways to delay payment. Eventually we became uncomfortable and insisted he satisfy his invoice and his entire demeanor changed. He became very argumentative and hostile. After a quick google search of his name we realized we had been scammed. We are now well aware he never had any intention of paying for any work done and unfortunately he scammed us out of over 11,000 which is very painful for a small company. Although we are pursuing every legal recourse within our rights and hope justice will be serviced please be diligent in reading up on David Wethy if you're unfortunate enough to cross paths.
