David Weekley Homes Reviews

We contracted with David Weekly Homes to build a home in Jacksonville Fla. Below are several areas of issues we had with the total process of dealing with David Weekly Homes.

Marketing: good sales pitch, but it all goes down hill after contract signed.

Poor quality work from sub-contractors all the way through: foundation, electrical, roofing, dry wall, security pre wire, flooring, heating and A/C., painting, landscaping and irrigation.

Just a few examples:

Three microwaves replaced in less than two months, due to poor wiring!

Builder sub contractor for carpet, Ally Builder Supply, installed a lessor pad than what we contracted for: They supplied a cheater pad, which is less cost. We are sure from Ally's response they do this on others, we found this by having a issue that we raized the carpet, and had the pad tested.

Poor painting very little paint on the surfaces, and they wanted to be paid extra to paint the intertior a color that they dont use in all their homes. From their gray, to a light pastel we wanted.

Heating and A/C units are not sufficent for the home size, very marginal, causing to work harder.

Mositure seal on foundation not installed fully on all surfaces.

Home was not cleaned properly for move in condition, roofers left nails and other debris on roof, and inside was not totally cleaned as told by marketing it would be in turn key condition.

Bath tub was damaged during constructiuon and had to be changed out before we accepted, as we had told them prior to make sure surfaces were all covered to prevent damage.

Floor surfaces were not covered, exposing them to workers traffic, again causing damage.

We received a inspection report after we moved in from the county, and the home had numerous c and d ratings. This goes to the quailty of the subs the builder uses.

The Weekly design center is poorly supplied with very limited selection, and in some cases discontinued items.

The staff over the development changes continous, throuh the process of building, which adds to the poor oversight of subs, and adds to not meeting commitments to complete and close on the home. Our closing was cancled three times.

The higher management turn a deaf ear to any issues brought to them.

This by far is the worst home overall we have ever owned. We would not reccomend this David Weekly Homes.
