Rick Tompkins was contracted to abandon an old well using Bentonite Clay. We started having trouble with our new well after Tompkins abandoned old well. I called Halliburton, the maker of Hole Plug, to find out why this might happen. It turns out Tompkins cheated and did not use the correct amount of Hole Plug to abandon the old well. This caused the old well to form a colloidal solution of bentonite clay that created a plume which then polluted all the surrounding aquifers. To make matters worse, the old well was contaminated so it created a very problematic and expensive issue for us. I called Halliburton and received instructions how to properly abandon a well. Halliburton included information on how much Bentonite Clay to use. Tompkins said he would come back and take care of it and do the job right. Tompkins also said he would only charge for the material and the labor would be free. I thought that was fair enough albeit I was annoyed that he did not do it correctly in the first place. However, it took over a month to get Tomkins back to correct the issue. Once he did come back, he only did half the job and left us hanging for another week. So we had to deal with bottled water and showers with bentonite clay burning our eyes for 5 weeks. He finally finished the job and then, to my surprise, he handed me a bill for eight (8) tomes what he said it would cost. There was more work to be done to fix issues with the new well which he said he would take care of for me. He then stood in my kitchen and made a commitment to finish the job and take care of me. He would not leave until I paid the bill. I called his cell and he never returned calls after that. I called his office and they told me to call him directly and not bother them. He finally sent me a text that basically told me to piss off. I am now taking him to small claims court. Does Not Honor Agreements. Fails to Perform Work as Contracted.
