On 4/04/2016 I & another friend negotiated the price for the purchase of two seperate "one-man" pontoon boats, Model# Switch Blade from Dave Scadden Paddlesports. We both recieved our boats approximately 3 weeks later. Upon opening the container I found the frame to be a different color then displayed on their on-line advertising video, rubber end caps for the frame were missing and cheaper oars were provided then portrayed in theire video. No equipment list was provided on-line other then what their video protrayed. More importantly, I discovered one of their glue-on strap holder patches was already peeling which leads me to believe that they lack quality control and/or cheapo glue was used. These patches are used to secure the frame to the pontoons. Last but not least, the two forward strap holders that are used to secure the pontoons to the frame were relocated toward the rear approximately two feet which would create a very unstable situation while fly fishing. After shipping the boat back for a full refund i recieved an email from the owner Dave Scadden indicating that they didn't give refunds. After I encounter this many issues with any product, espeically when the cost is over $1000, I have don't have a desire to keep it. I feel as though I dealing with a very un-business like company that is attemping to force me to keep the boat that was falsely advertised and incompetently constructed. For those of you consumers that are thinking about buying a Dave Scadden product: I would highly recommend a different manhufacture that builds quality products and doesn't use deceitful advertising.

Buyers beware -- read this !!!

So - if you are interested in buying from Mr. Dave Scadden, do so via a retailer.

He tried to sell me a demo boat and wrote me the following:

"I just had one of our new detonators come in from a dealer show. It sat on an elevated display for two days and it's in brand new condition."

That was in late summer, apparently no dealer shows then and then I told this to a few friends and they contacted him as well asking for a brand new boat and they got the exact same response for different boat models.

Turns out all were lies, one of the guys bought one and then the message comes "oh parts are just coming in" instead of an immediate shipment of the boat.

Lots of words and promises and BS. Then go ahead and try to get a hold of him if something is not going the right way, good luck. Customer service is NOT EXISTING.

Now he lists a customer service rep on his website, just a good buddy answering questions. the parts on the boat are NOT US made and glued on the pontoon. Horrible quality. Innovative designs but horrible quality. Hard to believe how this company stays afloat.........

Nothing Wrong With Dave Scadden

I am from Toronto and ordered a Detonator from Dave Scadden. His inflatables are the best on the market. His quality is second to none. These BS reviews are a shame.

I hope people do not base their decisions on what "other people say", regarding Dave Scadden, because he is a great salesman with a superior product. Yes, he is busy and may take a day or two to contact you. Same with Sea Eagle & Outcast.

Detonator review

Just received and assembled my new detonator. It looks brand new but was a floor model. Took 2 extra weeks to get the correct hard seat but it came as promised. I have a Sunrise Skykomish which has faithfully served me for 12 years. The only complaint so far about the Detonator is the oars seem to be less quality especially in the handle grips. This has a lifetime warranty, so we will see this next summer how it does on the rivers and lakes. Customer service has been good so far too.

Liar, liar, pants on fire......

I ordered a Zonker Lo Pro X from Dave directly on 9/23/19. I am a repeat customer and never had an issue until it arrived missing the 2 side compartment bags and deluxe padded folding seat. I called the next day to tell him this and he said the bags always ship separately and the seat was back ordered which was never mentioned when I ordered 5 day’s earlier. I said the FedEx bill only showed 1 item shipped and not two. He said he would look into it and get back to me. He never did so I called again 4 days later and got the same song and dance story. Never heard from him again so I called and left a detailed voice mail that I needed the items for my upcoming fishing trip. He never sent the items and never had the courtesy to respond to me. I had to file a financial dispute with Chase Visa for the value of the items I was scammed out of and he never responded to them either! I don’t understand how he stays in business lying to customers and not blinking an eye about it.

Not good business

The review from Canada must be a Scadden employee. I bought a boat from Dave 2 months ago. The boat came after numerous emails, calls, and filing a dispute with my credit card company. However the order was incomplete and a part I paid for was NOT delivered. I've again emailed and called every contact number for Mr. Scadden I can find. He did email me stating "I'll receive the part next week". Well next week is way gone and still no part. Dave Sadden is the worst businessman I've ever done business with. I'm very tempted to call every sports show manager that Scadden sells at and tell them what a terrible representative Dave Scadden is of their shows. Do not buy from this guy - maybe without our money he'll start to recognize the value of a good businessman.

I preordered and paid for a set of carbon oars in may of 2017 and haven't recieved them nor any reply to repeated attempts to find out why.

We ordered a Skykomish Sunrise pontoon boat around Fathers Day 2017 but it was not delivered for about two months and even then it had the wrong oars and no oar rights. Several tims Dave told us the boat was on its way or we would have it in next few days but each time he was wrong. When we told Dave he sent the wrong oars he said the proper oars would be sent immediately but they sent the wrong oars again. Eventually the sent the correct oars and we sent one set of wrong oars back at their expense. When I complained, Dave said he has 84 employees and they are doing their best to meet an unprecedented and overwhelming demand.
