My question involves an auto loan or repossession in the State of: Wa
Being sued by Daniel Gordon
Here is my situation... I was the primary borrower on a auto loan, ex wife was the co borrower. Long story short, she split, took the car, never made a payment... car gets repo. I just received a letter regarding the debt, tried to settle, but they want more than I can afford. I gave them her mailing info and number as well.
So, if this goes to court, and it looks like it may, will the judgement be split? Ie; I pay my half and I'm no longer liable... or does one person get stuck with the entire amount? In this case if it were me, the other person walks away with no penalty other than the credit situation. Just need to get an idea of how this works in court, or if this has happened to anyone.
I also asked if I can get the other party to pay half of the settlement amount, would they remove it from my credit report, and they said they would not.
I have read alot about the practices of this debt collector, and I just want to make sure I have as much info as possible.
Thanks... any help or thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated
